Of course they’re laughing. The punters who have stumped up the $7.5m for it on the other hand...

Another pained response - if you don't like it ..... then don't bet :thumbsu:

Maybe do what Pinnell's mate has done and buy 5% into Triple Crown Syndicate horse and you too might be cheering on a dual Everest winner or Golden Eagle contender

Aiden O'Brien's best sprint horse Ten Sovereigns got trounced over 6 furlong by ......... Australian bred horses

His other sprint champion US Navy Flag got smashed last year in the Everest

So why is it so hard to believe that Australia has some of the best turf horses in the world from 5 to 8 furlongs?

Given the prizemoney on hand and there is no reason why Europe or the States not to send horses - they do for other longer distance races - or is it that they know they cant win as our Australia sprinter/milers are better?

Ahhh yes Paris's eternal hard on for longer distance horses

You are trying to compare apples and oranges

Seriously what's your problem with our rich sprint races?

They are a dime a dozen and they all take turns.

Or maybe I can continue to bet whilst being one of many expressing their opinion to the authorities that they are risking the future of the industry by bleeding punters dry.

I also have no interest in buying a share in a massively marked up horse from a major syndicator who funnily enough aren’t dipping their hands in their pockets to pay for this pissing contest. Same goes for the big breeders who make a hell of a lot out of the industry without really putting anything back in.

Add in the fact that the proposed increased turnover to pay for these races didn’t eventuate leaving them financially short, and that odds and evens which was designed to take share from the pokies market has been a spectacular bust being hidden by co-mingled pools, until TAB skytext accidentally displayed them as seperate pools this afternoon.

Im not really sure what you’re rant about overseas horses not being good enough has to do with it or proves? We put on a $7.5m race on to attract international horses that you think aren’t good enough to be competitive to come over..but they didn’t actually turn up so we have a field of horses that would’ve been running this week anyway?

They sent their best miler to the Breeders cup over this Mickey Mouse event.

The US Breeders weekend is well established and O'Brien hasn't won the turf mile before so good for him.

Still absolute crickets re: AO'B's sprinters getting trounced by Australian sprinters

Pretty sure you will find that the GE is not considered a Mickey Mouse race by Australia's premier trainers or even O'Brien for that matter considering he has a 2000 Guineas trial winner in the field

You may have legitimate concerns however if you are so angry with the industry why don't you stick to your guns and stop betting altogether ..... you can then change your nick to 98 Problems

BTW 3 international horses have turned up ..... if you haven't noticed

Seriously what a strange thing to say given in an explosive sprint racehorses/jockeys have less time to get of trouble, a higher chance to be affected by barrier bias and may have to (especially in Australia) deal with extreme track changes between runs

Anyway how are those gun northern hemisphere sprinters doing in Oz?

I lol'd - he has sent a token D grader down mate and you are kidding yourself if you think otherwise. A horse so bad he wasn't up to contesting ANY of the myriad of European Guineas.

Yes the last two sprinters he sent down for the Everest have gone s**t but he also sent absolute hacks down like Spirit of Valour to be placed in Group 1s - and I have NFI at all what relevance this has to this race being a gigantic waste of money

Yes - 3 bog average internationals that no one one in the world would actually go to a racetrack to see. Well done on knowing someone with a horse in the fight but it doesn't change the fact this is a gigantic waste of money.

What ...... because you don't rate the horses running?

Laughable that you still cannot bring yourself to acknowledge that Australia has a world class brilliant array of sprinter/milers

Circus Maximus comes here and he absolutely likely gets torched just like US Navy and 10 Sovereigns

But I guess that doesn't fit your NH biased agenda

Yep that's right only the NH is allowed to have races with rich purses because Australian horses are just bunch of cats

Is this dude fighting himself over an irrelevant topic, or am I seeing things?

Our top sprinters are so world class that SAL was easily handled in last years HK sprint and Spirit of Valour who couldn't get out of his own way in Europe is an Australian G1 placegetter.

You mean Spirit of Valor that won a Group 2 in Ireland and ran 2nd to Merchant Navy in another Irish Group Race ?

As for SAL apparent failure in HK well if you read up there were plenty of excuses including a horror ride by Bowman to a lack distinct pace early on but hey anything to bag the crisp out of Australian horses

Good to see your Paris army of bandwagoners are up and about as well :thumbsu:

Sure there were ;) #noexcuses

Also LOL at you claiming Spirit of Valour as a top European sprinter - so good he started 20 and 30/1 in the Diamond Jubilee and July Cups respectively.

It's not irrelevant to Paris because it actually pains him to think that Australia has better horses than the NH in some distance categories

Does it?

Even if it does - what does that have to do with the quality of field we have here for a 7.5m race?
