I'm very impressed at the way the club has integrated the new sponsor into the press around Hodge's arrival.

There are several images of Hodge around the web and presumably in hard copy with Oaks' logo prominently displayed. That's a good way to start a relationship with a financial partner and I'm sure it sends the right signal to other current and potential sponsors.

Does anyone think there is a possible risk of Hodge n Beams having a possible tiff over areas of responsibility? I know Beams has stated he is keen for Hodge to come but once the real stuff begins and Hodge is yelling out instructions...reality may hit home for Beams???????????????????????????????????
They've already talked about how much they've enjoyed having Dad yelling instructions across the backline so having someone else directing traffic shouldn't be too much of a shock for Beams.

And under the watch of Fagan Hodge should know exactly what his role is, where his boundaries are and where his contributions will be welcomed.

Not Beams but Mcstay being told where to go and what to do could be a problem:cool:

If Harris is Dad, does that make Hodgey Grandpa? And Richy the cool surfing uncle?

Yes that's a possibility but I was thinking more along the lines of Beams being protective of his cubs.

Also does anyone think the Hartung deal is signed but they are holding back the announcement to get every inch of blood out of "The Hodge Arrival"?

I'm keen to watch how Fagan manage Hodge's workload. Not just for his body, but to hit the sweetspot for player development. Too much Hodge might stifle development, yet you want him out there almost teaching on the spot. An interesting balancing act to unfold. I'm thinking it might be influenced by how we match-up against certain teams and their ratio of talls to shorts, but injury will probably unfortunately have its say as well. No doubt some positional manipulation and giving players experience in different roles will happen.

It will make an interesting side-story for next year.

Don't know what you are smoking, and not sure I want any.:straining:

Give him time - I won’t be surprised to see Hodgey doing the sports news on Channel 7 Brisbane when he gets up here to keep his hand in

Hardly. We're a brisbane team, not a Melbourne team. We need Queensland coverage

Pretty sure our sponsers would be happy with that, cant think of much else (infact nothing) that would get us on the back page outside of a finals win. Even a new coaching appointment wouldn't.

Fagan has said he will basically miss the long away trips to the likes of WA and SA. Outside of that he will play every game available i think. Might get a rest a bit quicker if he is sore or something, but i think 16-18 games a season is what we will be expecting. Dont think the lineup will change too much, think they will keep it settled so the unit can gel together more.

Feel like he needs to play Port in Adelaide, they are the games we get crunched by 100+

Got to stop them from waltzing it out of the middle first. (maybe he can play in the middle)

I would prefer he play all home games and all games in Vic = 17 games.
