Nic Nat averaging less than 1 mark a game, If i am not wrong he has got 6 marks so far this season. We really need him to work on his marking.

The thing with Naitanui and his marking averages is that, if he's taking a mark, it's a contest, pack mark.

We don't look to chip him the ball when we're holding it and switching it from side to side. As a result you can't judge him on his numbers compared to other players.

Having said that, anecdotally, you can see that he grasses some that he should take.

Ranked 6th in Total Contested Marks in 2012.

He averaged two contested marks a game in 2012, taken four so far this year.

Another positive: Sinclair at three quarter time did not back down in the little dust up. Pushed someone, they flopped massively and went down, a bunch of Saints went to Sinclair and he had to be pulled away. He didn't try and calm the situation down, just looked the Saints in the eye and gave it right back. I know you need cooler heads to prevail sometimes but it was a fun sight for a young player.

Yeah when we kick to him its usually from a kickout to him with 5 other blokes around him.

Naitanui looks like he's not moving as well as he did in his early years, someone mentioned that he's been managing back problems this season, definitelylacks intensity and pace. He really should be dominating a lot more than he is.

At least he very very rarely loses those contests though. He isn't marking anywhere near enough, but at least he follows it up. It'll come, then he won't drop a single one. These periods of buttery fingers happens to loads of KPFs

I don't know what it is, but it seems like a lot of the time when there's a big scrum, he's just standing around outside like a seagull. I'm not sure if it's fitness or what, but he seems to have lost some of his aggression. I also see a lot of times when he goes hard to make a tackle for a couple of seconds, then just gives up and jogs.

He's more athletic than most of the ruckmen out there and he could be so much more damaging if he'd just run them off their feet.

It's his groin just like Judds..

Yeah I don't know if it's the groin or the back or what, but he really looked elite in 2012 at the age of 22, and since then it has just seemed like a slow decline. It will be disappointing if that's the best that we end up getting from Nic Nat.

Fraser McInnes deserves more love. He's playing his role so well. Can't believe he's only 21 and is 197cm (practically ruck height) - still growing into his body and won't peak until he's 25+.

Darling Lamb McInnes Lycett will cause a few headaches in the forward line over the next 10 years.
It's more the issue that we don't know how to fit them all in.

He simply won't be able to play when Darling's back, let alone if McGovern ends up playing forward.

It will be Kennedy, Lycett/Sinclair/NN, Darling.

Hopefully he improves his marking and kicking on goal because his work around the ground is pretty good

In the past two weeks he has averaged the lowest time on ground (apart form the sub in/out)... 74% & 71%. Sharp drop from 85% the week before... may suggest that he is carrying an injury?

Forgot about McGovern playing up forward.

TBH with those player we arguably don't need him there and he would be more valuable in the backline.

Emac + McGovern is a future AA FB/CHB combo.

Thanks Dave
This one of McGovern just sums up his season so far

Agree, Frazer deserves more love on here ... has been very good, i reckon, and Simmo is clearly very happy with him. He does need to improve his kicking on goal though. Developing well!

Id prefer Emac and Schofield back, McGovern forward with the ability to swing back if we are being dominated. A forward line of McGovern, Kennedy, Darling, LeCras, Hill and Cripps could easily be the best in the league.

But where do we play the second ruck? It's the million dollar question.

Yep that slipped my mind lol. Do we need a 2nd ruck? Or could McGovern/Yeo pinch hit around the ground?

Mcgovern/Yeo? Nononononononono! Yeo needs to stay midfield and gov needs to play either deep forward or back. Forward lines have pretty much 7 players including the one on the bench, so I'd add the second ruck to the rotations of the 6 you mentioned and have the that player (whether it be Mcinnes, Lycett or Sinclair) either filling Kennedy/Mcgoverns role while they were resting on the bench or roaming around the ground being a lead-up target like Mcinnes is now
