I'm going to a ball the night before so I'm going to get on the wine so I don't have to think about the nerves leading up to Saturday. This could potentially be the best weekend of my life.

The centre square grand final eve I'm going to has a complimentary drinks service and I fully intend on making back as much money as I can on my ticket so I know exactly how you feel!

Me too. Just enough to pass out. Not too much to have a hangover. A fine line.

I'm surprisingly calm this week. Was way more nervous last week. I think it was, ironically, because there was an expectation of winning it. I don't want to sound pessimistic, I think we can win it, but I don't really expect to, plus I'm not going to the game so that pressure/hype isn't there either. I reckon if I was in Melbourne I'd be all nerves.

Mind you, ask me Saturday morning and it could be a completely different story. :D

Every second or third drink make a water and hangover is gone (well, the dehydration part anyway. If you're afflicted with headadches then the water will only help a little as that is more to do with the slow vasodilaton of the vessels in your head...not that I'm a scientist or anything :p )

Just come back from Woolies and was behind an old codger (his words) in the 12 or less queue and he was wearing one of those crazy polos we had that had the baby purple, red and green. It looked atrocious but boy did I feel proud of that crappy polo (I also had one ). He has been wearing all of his Docker shirts for the last two weeks with the polo he got for Christmas from his grandies to be worn on GF day.

Win, lose or draw. I'm loving watching the highlights of our 19 years that have been shown over the last few days. Some great memories, good and bad.

Some of our pretty bizarre trades (don't get me started on Croad) and bizarre games (whispers in the sky, umpire marking the ball), 2006, Gerard Neesham, that ridiculous anchor at the start of the home games and yes, some really bad supporter gear :D

Love seeing the various Freo guernseys around town.

We won't all agree on whether some of these things were good or bad but it's ours.

just packing my bags for the trip
got a replay of last week on telly on the background
whilst leaving subi last week i told myself, win or lose this week i'm just happy to be going
different story now i can tell you
leaving work this morning at 1 00 am i wnt to the wrong car and only realised this when my key wouldnt open the door, much to the amusement of my collegues
"all i see is purple" was my answer
just went for a surf to try and ease the nerves ,didnt work
now i can say i'm bloody nervous, shaking nervous
i told my son if we win on saturday i may shed a tear,he didnt unterstand
better get back to packing ,see ya there saturday

Hope you don't mind the intrusion but just wanted to say good luck. Go Dockers. I can relate to your feelings of excitement, especially with traveling. I flew to Melbourne for both the 2000 and 2001 Grand Finals. Just soak it all up. Hope you win but even if you lose you guys should be there again in the next couple of years so don't be too disconsolate.

All I've had where I live is people giving me weird looks and/or some muttering Go Hawks

Looking forward to actually seeing some purple tomorrow compared to the distinct lack of purple I've seen this week

I live in the inner city and fumble around there and the CBD a bit, and I do get what you mean. Some douchebags'll make quiet-but-just-loud-enough comments. Snide pricks. Guess that's the price you pay for being a good football side!
