Grand Prize
BigFooty.com is in its 10th year so, with the help of Sportingbet.com.au, we're giving something special back to one AFL club: $10,000 cash.
$10 Grand for 10 Grand by the Grand Final
The first AFL club to have 10,000 supporters registered and active on BigFooty.com by the 2009 Grand Final gets $10,000 straight from us - with a little help from one of BigFooty's own long-time supporters, Sportingbet.com.au.
Everyone Goes Platinum
Not only does the club get the cash, but every single one of the winning club's first 10,000 registered supporters active on BigFooty.com gets Platinum BigFooty Supporters Club membership for one year. Just for turning up.
(What is Platinum BFSC?)
Just tell your fellow supporters
The quicker they register as BigFooty.com members, the more they count towards your club's chances to pick up the cash. If no club gets 10,000 active registered supporters, nobody gets the money.
Existing users included
Just log in at least once every month between now and the Grand Final and you're included in the tally.
I'll be sick
If Collingwood gets my money. Don't let that happen!
The Fine Print
There is no cost to enter.
The first club to get to 10,000 registered, active supporters on BigFooty.com receives $10,000 from BigFooty.
This includes existing BigFooty members who meet the "registered and active" criteria below.
A registered, active supporter is a BigFooty user who:
* Is properly registered (i.e. has confirmed their email address after registration).
* Is an individual - no duplicates or aliases will be counted.
* Has one of the 16 AFL clubs (or Gold Coast) chosen in the AFL Club field in their user profile. Nobody with "Unlisted" as their AFL Club will be counted.
* Logs on to BigFooty.com at least once per month from their registration date, or from February 2009 if they're already a registered user, until the 2009 Grand Final.
For the purposes of calculating the 10,000 registered, active supporters:
* Users who are registered before June 30 2009 count as 1 full user. This includes existing users who have registered since BigFooty began.
* Users who register in July 2009 count as 3/4 of a user
* Users who register in August count as 1/2 of a user and
* Users who register in September before the 2009 AFL Grand Final count as 1/4 of a user.
This helps stop any last-minute attempts to rig the competition
By registering before July 2009 you maximise your contribution to your club's score of "registered active users".
* Cut off is the opening siren for the 2009 AFL Grand Final.
* If no club achieves 10,000 valid, active, registered users (as calculated above) the money is not awarded to any club.
* The BigFooty Supporters Club Platinum membership for the winning club's supporters only goes to the first 10,000 active, registered individual users - so sign up early.
* If more than one club achieves 10,000 or more active registered users, as calculated above, the first club to reach 10,000 active registered users before the Grand Final (and stay above 10,000 until the Grand Final) receives the $10,000.
* No running tally will be published, but we may publish a leaderboards a few times during the season.
* How will the money be given? By cheque directly to the winning club. We have not decided if we will buy memberships and give them out to charities, or give them out randomly to registered BF supporters or just make a straight donation. We welcome your opinions, and it probably depends on what the club wants to do as well. We'll also ask the club if they want the money for themselves or if they want to pass it on to a charity or other worthy cause of their choosing.
