Stealing JUBJUB's post.

The Amazon Prime show will feature short films shot in different locations around the globe and the studio audience portion of the showcase will also take place at a different location around the world every week. The pre-recorded studio sections of the program will be filmed in front of a live audience, all housed within a giant tent. Therefore in this spirit of travel, adventure and intrigue, the presenters have decided to call the show 'The Grand Tour.'

Will still get 5x as many viewers as the BBC Top Gear.. even if Amazon Prime don't sell the rights to any of the FTA TV stations.

Nah. BBC Two's typical audience dwarfs Amazon's total subscription. Top Gear was averaging nearly 6.5million last season. Nowhere near that many people are going to start handing over money to watch one show each week on the internet. Will thrive in the torrentverse though.

They'll license it to one of the terrestrial broadcast services.. and the audience there will far outstrip anything the new BBC abomination can achieve.

and do you think theyll have 6.5 million this season? 2 million tops.

Will murder the new Top Gear simply because Hammond, Clarkson and May work so well together.

To be fair any of us and $5000 could make something better than anything with Evans on it.

An irony of this show's existence is American company Amazon will have less tolerance than the BBC did for Clarkson's I'm-not-racist-I'm-just-joking screwups.
