May be late, may be knee jerk. Doesn't alter the fact that he has been forced to act, as a result of prolonged inactivity and a complete lack of leadership coming from the Federal level.

Did the Federal govt force SA to pursue a 40% RET?
It was actually 50% RET by 2025..
Did the Federal Government force the SA Government to close the Port Augusta Northern Power Station that was only commissioned as late as 1985?? - No
Did the SA Government make the Port Augusta Northern Power Station unviable for it's Operators with their pursuit of power from Windmills?? - Yes

Yeah, lets pick a fight with the Feds who are propping up our State through a disproportionate share of GST revenue and gift wrapped jobs on the Subs projects

Summed it up nicely.

At least now both governments now seem to be finally, finally doing something... though continuing the school yard antics blaming each other... though they are both right that they are both responsible for fixing this mess.
 
The only issue I have with that is not every household can afford panels or batteries
if everyone who could afford to did it would make a pretty big dent though.

the bigger problem from a household perspective if you can't afford solar panels is that your bill goes up for every person who can.

Thats nice. Then they should start laying thier own roads, installing their own sewers and potting their own watter.
After all that, we will then need some new taxes ala the dam/rain water harvesting tax.
