"The Great McCarthy" was actually a pretty boring film I thought. The intrigue lay more in how it eerily ended up coinciding with the future of the Swans and how their 1980s panned out.

"The Club" craps all over it even though it's about Collingwood.

The book was quite good, not so sure about the movie though. I seem to recall there was some excellent cinematic footage used of some 1974 reserves games down at Lake Oval. They picked a guy who had a physical similarity to John Jarrett (can't remember the players name), however, he didn't manage a senior game that year, hence the use of the reserves stuff. Came up really well, especially considering it was pre-colour TV days. Much better than the mish-mash that was put together for "The Club"
