True but things began changing in the early 90s when the rot began to set in at Everton. Like I said, the number of real jerks supporting Liverpool these days hasn't helped at all- I've had many on-line altercations with reds, which has only helped harden my own attitude towards them.

I'm considering doing a soccer history website, in which I'll write up detailed history of various European clubs and have a massive Everton section where there would be much in a way of memories, photos, etc.
That sounds cool, I wouldn't mind helping out with Arsenal, AC Milan and Ajax.

If I don't get into accounting at TAFE next year, I'm also considering writing up sports history books which might take months or even years to complete.

Watson and McFadden on the flanks are the makings of a decent midfield, all that is needed are two in the centre.
Doh... midfield axis... midfield axis...

I was thinking more along the lines of one star youngster on each line (forward, midfield, defence) to build around.

The midfield was the very thing which Everton built the great championship-winning sides around, it's as if it were a tradition for us. Just before the golden era of the 1960s started, we had Bobby Collins ("The Little General") who was well regarded, and the 1963 side had the likes of Billy Bingham, Alex Scott, Derek Temple, Jimmy Gabriel and Dennis Stevens.

After Peter Reid's departure at the end of the 80s, Sturt McCall more or less took up the mantle but he departed for Rangers in 1991 and I feel that our midfield has been lacking a true leader ever since.
