In my reckoning (trying to update wikipedia!), the 381st meeting between Wigan and St Helens results in a convincing 30-10 win for the Warriors, in front of a 19000 crowd. Although we defended on our try-line for much of the game, when we had opportunities in attack, we had the skill to score the points, isn't that what it's all about? Our back three of the two ex-Parra lads, Jai Field and Bevan French, and local llad Liam Marshall, have been on fire all season, and are certainly the best in the comp. Not 100% certain if these stats include tonight, but
Bevan French: 29 tries, 16 assists (played mostly at wing, and a bit of full-back)
Jai Field: 20 tries, 28 assists (played mostly full-back and a bit of half)
Liam Marshall 19 tries, 7 assists (winger)
Our young half, Harry Smith, also chipped in with 5 tries and 17 assists.
However you slice it, I reckon that shows great attacking play. I am so chuffed! -
