From memory there is a separate map for Tassie.Tasmania doesn't rate a mention?
Yeah, I was there in 2010 2 days after NYE.We near froze in NYC over Christmas one year, flew to Ediniburgh for nye and the highlands were a warm upgrade!
That frozen wind whipping between the Manhattan buildings was like razor blades
I was with my sister and my mate, we high classed it as my sister had good contacts in NYC and our hotel room was the Marriott on the 20th floor overlooking Times Square. I remember sitting by the window watching the blizzard cover everything, go to sleep and wake up to find everything cleared. That memory makes me laugh actually, cause my partner is one of those true cold fishes, I'll be wearing a t-shirt round the house, she will be camped under blankets shivering...
So NYC was torture for her at this point, her lips and face were all ruddy and peeling from the wind. We were staying in the cheap dormy hotel, 6 bedder, it had one of those old radiators on the wall. We were in the room with these 2 black gang banger type guys but nice enough lads, just scarey to look at.
Anyhow we were all asleep cept em who was typically freezing, she just turned the radiator knob til it wouldn't turn no more..
I wake up in the middle of the night wet, pure sweat, it was like a furnace in there... I sneak out to splash some water on my face, come back the guys are out there, wet, soaking in singlet and shorts all stuck to them... Day-yum! It's crazy hot in the bro...goes one of them..We are out there trying to gather our composure while em is fast asleep in an unlivable furnace.
I ended up going down stairs and just noticed it had dumped massively , the entire place was white , was awesome to see NYC just blanketed.
It's that wind, was walking along southbsnk this morning about 5.30, it was just slicing thru me like I wasnt there. I would have sworn it would snow somewhere close today
Yep, it's the wind that's a killer.
I've had a couple of winters in Europe. It's obviously freezing, but quite still.
The coldest I've ever been was one day at Phillip Island at Pyramid Rock. An Arctic wind blowing a huge gale. It took me a few days to defrost.
It hasn't got any colder here.
I reckon you'd find it's got no colder if you compared average temperatures from, say, 1975 and 2015. In fact, if anything. it's likely gone the other way.
That could be brilliant, or a hell hole.I think the Winters would be the hardest thing to take for me if I ever tried to live in Melbourne. I much prefer the sun and the heat.
I'd be happy to never see a Winter again. Just chase the Summer around the globe.
This would be pretty awesome too.

That would never happen but point taken in general. You can always sell it just like any other property. That could be brilliant, or a hell hole.
Imagine you just bought a place on this World Ship, meet your next door neighbour and it's our favourite person from the HTB.
You are now stuck living next door to this person until one of you dies.
Still, I'm sure I could make it workable. guess all I need now is a bottomless bank account.
