Just to add to that TheBrightSide the cast includes Chris O'Dowd (IT Crowd), Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Ray Romano) and Sean Bridgers (Deadwood). Seriously, this thing is gold. Forget the Gene Hackman, John Travolta, Danny DeVito, Rene Russo thing from the 90's.

Okay that sounds great. You sold me when you said it was funny. I only really watch comedies, with a handful of exceptions.
I remember the movie, it was good but not a classic.

Not yet mate. All of a sudden we are awash with stuff to watch when there's usually a drought heading into Christmas. I will get to it though.
 
Just finished watching the Confession Killer on Netflix. * me the USA is scary place..
 
Is series 3 of True Detective worth a look?

Excellent. I just watched the auto preview bit that comes up on Netflix last night and it looked pretty promising.

The games did cover the comic, but most people have only played 3. I am making an assumption that the series might only reference 3. Big assumption though.

I think it's meant to be earlier than 3. It's young Geralt which is why he is sans goatee. I'm not 100% sure though.

Have you played the early games? I don't know how I missed them before 3 came out. Wish I had the time to go back and give them a go

Not for me. Had no idea what it was about going in to it, but been enjoying it so far (4 eps in)
