Not that this should come as a surprise to anyone, but the monkeys at the Herald Sun appear to have made a mistake when doing that table.

According to this article on afl.com.au:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-11-30/adelaides-2018-list-is-one-for-the-ages

which includes the entire playing list with Category B rookies, Adelaide has an older list than Hawthorn.

Backfire?
I was thinking of posting these real stats, but I know down at Geelol they tend to bend toward alternative facts, so I wasn’t going to. Thanks for giving it a go anyway.

Lol, desperate times using cat B rookies to get your average age down but whatever, if you wanna count those players you’re the second oldest and finished 12th and the oldest played in the GF.

I’ll stick with the accurate Herald Sun list though.

Was wahawk's opinion of you fake news also!?.....Gee it's good to see how woeful your "rebuild" is coming along. :D
Look, Warhawks is right up there with Bradkli, utter flogs.

The rebuild is going nicely thanks, midfield completely remodeled. Are you happy to still have Stanley, Black still on the list, let's not forget adding Crameri lulz.

They're all purely depth players for a club pushing for a flag, who knows why your club is holding onto guys like puopolo & shoenmakers considering you're "rebuilding".

Wells couldn't find a gem in a jewellery store. He's finally resorted to just buying other clubs' proven players.
Geelong have just the 10 players on the list from other clubs, and that's including late/rookie pickups like Aaron Black and Crameri. Interesting to see the Hawfies with the 11 - thought they'd be more interested in drafting than poaching given their 'rebuilding' status. Although I guess when you're one of the oldest lists in the competition, it's now or never. :):):poo:

And their list is right in the premiership zone age wise (Ranked 5th for players aged 25-29)

Did their list "manager" Graham Wrong totally **** up their list yet again?

They should have rebuilt but instead they topped up with no Kneera and Vickery

It's time to re introduce merger discussions.
It's no great problem.

Apparently they are amongst the teams with the best batch of youngsters in the AFL

Picks in the top 50

2016 AFL Draft:
Geelong - 26, 40, 43
Hawthorn - x

2017 AFL Draft:
Geelong - 22, 24, 36
Hawthorn - 45

Quite simply an unmitigated disaster for our friends from Dingley. :D:poo:

Counting rookie listed players is nothing when you're counting retired Hawthorn players in your totals, for both average age, and number of players from other clubs  It means your stats are irrelevant to the actual active list.

thought they'd be more interested in drafting than poaching given their 'rebuilding' status.
It's a rebuild on the run, and bringing in younger players like Mitchell as opposed to 34 year olds like Ablett is consistent with that.

Poor old Catspiss2007. He's never seen his pussies beat the Hawfies in the gf, and then a threepeat happens to make the gap even wider (despite a 28 year head start - lol!).
Whilst referring to the past about previous feet’s what happened last the the Whorks missed the finals for a few years?

Our recycled players include young blokes such as Tom Mitchell, Jaeger O'Meara, Jarman Impey. Then there are premiership heroes in Frawley, Gunston and Burgoyne. I'll give you the retired Vickery and the delisted free agent in Henderson.

Now let's look at Geelong;
Touhey not bad for a 27yo back flanker
Hendospud
Memegola
Black
Stanley
Crameri
Ablett

Nothing under 27 there, that is topping up Brad Scott style.

All those top ups yet we've still got a younger list and have taken far more quality draft picks than the Hawfies. 2018 is looming as a crucial year for the Hawfs, probably their last year to have a serious tilt at the premiership given their list age and their narrow-focus on bringing in players for the now and neglecting the draft. It's risky, but it'll be interesting to see if it pays off. After that it will be rebuild time, and none of that 10 week nonsense we heard about last year after finishing 12th. :D

You certainly do have enough spuds to get a contract with McCains.

2018 will not be crucial for us, we are not pretending to be a premiership threat like the Handbaggers. Need another key forward to replace Rough in a few years.

Nice deflection though, these Scott brothers love a top up.
