At least Melbourne doesn't seem to get the Adelaide's whole weeks of 30C+

The odd day of heat isn't so bad, it's the warm nights and mornings, days spent continuously cooped up in the A/C that gets fatiguing.

Hot nights are the worst. We don’t have AC in our bedrooms. Have had more than one 2am trip to the beach.

Only because of the wintery start, we're on track for a cooler than average December - at least our coolest since 2013.

It has been bone dry though. December average is around 60mm, and we've only had a light sprinkle at the start of the month.

Been watching Melbourne which is down on the December average. Not sure about elsewhere.

Unusually the forecasts were a fair way out on the weekend - 32 & 31 forecast, 28 & 27 recorded.

(As a footnote, certain posters have taken me to task for not making use of median in footy stats, but I never see it used in temperature figures.)
