After the last 3 days of 39 44 44, the next week is forecast to be 44 44 42 39 38 41 42.
Unfortunately, I don't have air conditioning.

Obviously not getting paid enough being a mod :p

meh this is nothing, seriously

victoria and sa are complaining over a string of 40 degree days

how about going to a place in north wa such as kununurra? wyndham? marble bar? karratha?

its 43 degrees there for 6 consecutive months, not just a week!

It's still hot though mate. And for those who struggle with this kind of heat such as the young and elderly, it would be absolute hell.

Yeah but people are aware of that before they move there. Plus theres a thing called acclimatization. It's only getting to people because it's a once in 100 year thing.

Exactly. Stupid comments by people like XFactor1979 trying to win a ****ing pissing contest do not help. The elderly, the very young and pets alike can quite easily die in this heat and to even mention country towns and the heat they experience is not really ****ing relevant to a discussion on record temperatures in capital cities.

Melbourne experienced the 3rd hottest day in 150 of recorded measurements. THAT IS A BIG ****ING DEAL.

when i was travelling around the middle east and i had to eat salt tablets

the colour of my "sample" was something you would only see for someone who was about to die from dehydration

theres always the beach, im not sure about you melbournites or adelaideians, perthians and sydneysiders usually run off to the beach when its too hot.

Would you like a medal or a chest to pin it on?

I have to try and sleep during the day in a flat with no insulation and no A/C. It is like a ****ing furnace in here, and there is nowhere I can go to get some respite. Try going to work on 3 hours sleep every day for a week in that kind of heat and see how chipper you're feeling then.

Beach on a 45 degree day? Only if you are insane... Your feet would burn on the sand so fast, you'd have to make sure your shoes/thongs are right next to the edge of the water.

Here is a good site to tell us just how hot it is/was here in Victoria (other states just follow the links).

Seems like that cool change has hit Geelong with the winds now from the S.

Doesn't look like anywhere else is getting that change yet.

Melbourne just recorded a new high for today, 43.3C.

I heard them on the radio today saying that Darwin was expected to have had the lowest overnight temperature of all capital cities. Not sure if that eventuated or not.

Errr - no. Darwin was only cooler than Melb and Adelaide.

At this stage it does not look like anywhere else will be receiving this cool change yet. I imagine unless Laverton gets a change, Melbourne won't be getting one. Still 43.5 at Laverton and 43.4 in Melbourne.

Well, I live further west than Geelong and it is still 41 degrees, so it's fair to say we won't be getting that cool change.
