Hopefully Hawks would keep it all as an investment.

Good rental return for a gym, the shops etc
May need to sell to finance new facility?

Right next door to Moorabbin Airport. When they said "destination club" they literally meant "destination club".

Hawk Force One?

Charter flights?

A few years ago they mentioned they wanted to build something similar to Tottenham's training facility which is also on 28 hectares.

Some pics to give you guys an idea of what we could do in Dingley, obviously with footy grounds instead of soccer ones:

Ha ha
I hope that doesn't mean we'll have the same success as the great Tottenham Hotspurs?

They did win the league back in the 1960's ...

;)

To be honest, I don't really care that much about precise location. From a quick glance at Google Maps, doesn't seem that far away from Waverly Park (like 10-15 mins), if that. More than that, regarding value, seems on par or more, considering its actually closer to the city.

Main thing I'm happy about this, is that world class facilities means two major things:
- Improved development of talent (more Cyrils, more Birchalls, more youth that goes on to play well)
- Greater player-pull (makes us even more a destination club to players)

These two things will allow us to retain a high member base, as we should be able to retain talent and train new talent better.

Only thing is cost, as the club will be in debt for a while, so a short to medium term strain on profitability (think the Emirates stadium build for Arsenal). But knowing our board, we are in good hands. Exciting times!

Brilliant!
And on the way back from training, it'll only be a hop, skip and a jump from everybody's favourite tourist atteactions such as Dandy Magistrates court and Noble Park train station...

Just so long as the players aren't getting snacks in Springvale... could be bad for the stomach.

I have to look up Dingley to see where it is - the middle of nowhere.
It would want to be bloody good - miles from where players like to live and where most members live.

A lot of the players live down in the bayside suburbs so not necessarily miles away (not much further than Waverley at any rate). As for the supporters they are spread over quite a number of Melbourne suburbs, probably quite a few down that way anyway.

As long as it doesn't look anything like the hangar. Honestly, if anyone is wondering who on earth would experiment with drugs on players then this soviet style building is your explanation. It's uncanny.
