I love the bloody statue.
I'll revere the Kennedy Centre and all it houses.
Now can we get the suburb renamed something proper, like Kingstown (or Kingston at a minimum), where Kings reside and set forth their plans for conquest and such?:p

Sell the team Dolan
Personally I'd place more weight on the statue.
Anything named can also be renamed for the right price.
We Train at Waverly Park (Ricoh Centre$$$)
Cats play at Kardinia Park (Simmonds Stadium$$$)
Collingwood train at The Glasshouse (Holden Center$$$)
Docklands Stadium (Etihad Stadium$$$)
Princess Park (Optus Oval$$$)
Adelaide Oval (Aami Stadium$$$)

Watch the first 2.5 minutes of this mate...

Bloody never fails to goosebump me.

Is today's announcement a good thing for the club?

Its in the little triangle to the right of the red line the curvy road is Old Dandy Road
So it should be good and depending on exits real good.
Needs the Dingley corridor to attach it to the Monash

Update from Jeff:

- Plans getting finalised by end of this year. Have had to be amended to include facilities for the future AFLW team
- Likely budget of $120m for construction
- Currently $30m in the kitty
- Club won't commence construction until at least half of the funding has been secured
- There will be no Pokies at the facility
- Land is getting re-capped as the former tip site is still shifting. Expected to be completed by end of year.
- Site will have community facilities (may assist in State/Federal Govt Funding)
- Club will ask AFL for funding
- expect construction to be completed and Club to shift to new facility within 5 years
- site likely to have offices/retail spaces for Club to generate rent revenue
- club unsure what they will do with Ricoh Centre facilities. Has been interest from AFL Umpires group to use as a HQ/training base

Is their a chance that we might transfer the Waverley Park asset to the AFL in exchange for funding?

Has anyone seen if the surface re-capping is underway? Do all the major playing fields similar in size now? The wa ground I believe is shaped more like the mcg, so maybe there is no real odd shaped ground anymore.
Hope all works out fantastic, money wise also.

Too busy digging up Waverley by the looks of things. Maybe get onto Dingley once Waverley resurfacing is completed.
