Don't know if anyone heard Tredrea this morning. He said Eade is being interviewed this week and he seems to think Eade is going to have a fair crack at it.

Interestingly Rooch picked up on this again in his article today

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport...-football-circus/story-fn83zgrc-1226479969498

"Leading the Power from Sydney does seem silly. But then Port has done such things in the past by Skype."

Rumour has it that Rooch gets all his rumours from Big Footy

I know Rucci's being facetious with the "Skype" comment, but there is a difference between Laidley and any potential move with Roos.
Where Roos would essentially be a mentor, or "coach's coach", he probably wouldn't be needed in the day in, day out running of things. Laidley was one of our line coaches and thus the whole "Skype" thing was a fiasco, making his position virtually untenable.

I believe 3/10 will be the day.... Nothing is in stone yet.

FWIW whilst I do get some good mail from people who very much know what's going on when it comes to certain topics - there are games being played even internally. I believe it's being done to actually locate leaks etc. like false info being told to particular individuals only and then seeing if it hits the media etc. I'm not sure on that tho just my hunch but I've got some good reasons/evidenve for thinking this. Big reason my mouth is shut
That ploy was used a few years ago on one of our senior players IIRC.

Agreed Rooch is having a dig but all this digging is undermining the factual news

Can't see that Port would ever go down this path regardless of who / what position it is - given our history it would be PR suicide

Facts have never been catman71's strong suits. He'll accuse you all of being Osama sympathisers next.

If this quote is accurate it is interesting (and disappointing from Parkin).

I don't imagine Parkin will be on the top of the list for the next "confidential" coaching committee.

Sounds like it is Cameron (or maybe Tudor) since it doesn't seem like being announced this week.
Parkin has been nothing but trouble this whole time. Going into bat for his spud mate Ratten and leaking confidential info. **** Parkin. We better not be paying this prick.

It's logical really, you can't have a professional organisations leaking sensitive information. Phoenix is being responsible if he does know something, which is great, weed em all out and burn them at the stake! Ok maybe a tad dramatic.

I'm over the suspenseful coach news too and also having to wait for trade week and draft day for enthusiasm also!

If so... My love for KT just grows stronger.

KT could possibly be one of this club's best ever appointments.

I have lost a lot of respect for Parkin the last 2 years he has been on league teams. I think all those knocks to the head have got to him and he is going senile. He says some really stupid things, says things like he is giving a speech to players and spends time apologizing for all the dodgey things he did as coach.

He has been trading on his good name for the last 5 years but he isn't up to it IMO.

I haven't had respect for Parkin since he backed Wayne Brittain in as his successor to be quite frank. I can't recall ever having heard him say something and thought `Oh, thats interesting'. I would be far more inclined to ask Jason Dunstall's opinion on anything football than Parkin, and I don't like Dunstall much either.

Good to the bold bit. I have been saying for awhile that we should have done this in the Haysman days to find out who was leaking. Its an excellent tactic.

He hasn't put a foot wrong so far. If he gets the coaching appointment right as well, after our recent history, then......do they have an AFL CEO of the year award?

I reckon his background in the media has been invaluable and the fact he understands what it's like to play and be part of a football team.

I'm not too sure that he hasn't made a mistake but he has been bloody good.

2 of KT's speechs that highlight your points Janey stand out to me.

1. Is the members info night and when he talked about finding out that language is important to Port people. He said he didn't think it was right that we ripped into the players after every loss as there had to be a balance. He also said that he has found out that Port people like it straight. He talked about communicating with us in a straight forward way. He started his CEO update a week before the members info night and his communuication to us since then has been very good and very clear. That's his media/radio background coming out.

2. His speech to us after the Essendon loss back at the club after the game and when he specifically addressed part way thru his speech, the players. He talked about the club requiring an effort and response against the crows and not delivering and then against Essendon. He said it was very good 3/4's response but when the game was in the balance and the right effort was needed, it didn't happen and 3/4's isn't good enough. In a clear and simple way he basically told the players that too many of them had let us down and that some of them weren't going to be around to let us down again. My brother inlaw and I both agreed that it was a speech only a 200 or 300 game player could make who had a lot of success and that a corporate guy like Haysman or James could never make.

KT is going great, almost a CEO Pres and Coach

He may bring in a record profit, what do you think he can do? Must be better than recent bailout years?

Or does he need more time?

I'm thinking Eade + senior assistant of either Cameron, Simpson or Tudor.

Eade may well have signed but we will announce both the coach and the senior assistant at the same time, so will wait until next week.

No we are on hand outs for the next few years. The current package runs out when we get to Adelaide Oval but we will be on hand outs after AO. The AFL have schedule us, Brisbane and Sydney to get disequal hand outs of $3.9mil between 2012-14, which is still less than WB, NM, Mel, StK and Richmond. That doesn't include GC and GWS special handouts.

We will not make a pre hand out profit for a few years yet. Not until we get our average crowds up to 30,000.
