I just can't get excited about an L plate or P plate coach.

Unless they get him a few more assistants and a bloody decent fitness staff group we are going to stuggle and have 2 years of having to be patient and build things up. As I said in a previous post, if we are going to finally throw a shit load of resources at the new coach, I rather have Buddha than another inexperienced coach.

I can get a lot more excited about a senior assistant from a current grand final side, than I can about an experienced coach with their best years behind them, or an assistant coach from a much worse side with the same flawed leadership as ours (because it is ours) who happened to be a caretaker coach, so I guess we even out.

Melbourne supporters were excited about getting an assistant from a grand final side that year + winning he helped get them a premiership a few years earlier.

Melbourne weren't in much better position than us and it was a hard grind for the next few years.

So if we're to take the reports of Eade withdrawing at face value, which experienced coach would you have liked?

It really was Eade or no one else. All the decent experienced guys who are recently out of the game have a some other gig or are happy in retirement.

We are in a big deep hole. We need a young star or wise old head to get us out of this in a decent time frame. I haven't seen anything to suggest Cameron is a star. I could be wrong. I hope I am but at the moment I just am not excited by him.

The Bulldogs over looked hm, one of their favourite sons, for Brendan McCartney last year. How have the Bulldogs gone? Do they look inspiring?

Would strongly recommend people do not post who their sources are.

Several people, including players, have been in serious trouble for 'leaking' even if it was only harmless.
Matt Thomas, David Rodan, Tom Logan and Daniel Stewart leak information to me all the time.

No others are worthy

I'm not sure how any of us plebs can ever "see" what an assistant coach does. That's why we have to rely on the selection panel to do the right thing.

NUFC, YES.
Any Tiger fan would be excited with anyone as a new coach after 4 years of spud Frawley
Wallace was the hottest of hot properties.

It's unfortunate how it all panned out as we all know he was doomed from the start. Not only did he have to try to redeem a basket case of a club, but they were coming off a wooden spoon to boot.

Deledio was the consensus #1 pick and was a no-brainer with their first pick and he'll always remember the moment he looked at the board and saw Franklin (the enigmatic troubled genius) available but chose Tambling (the next McLeod) instead. Losing arguably the form player in the league to a shattered leg 9 games into his tenure was the ultimate dagger through the heart.

:D You just don't like these guys, do you gp.
It's not that I don't like them, I just don't want them to be on Port's list anymore. Except Daniel Stewart. **** Daniel Stewart. Lazy prick.

TBH I can handle Rodan if he's sub more often than not, I'm just sick of all of the 'y dont dey pik Rodinz when hes deyr bestest playar' crap in the media and on Facebook concerning a flashy player with glaring deficiencies to the point where it's impacting my opinion on Rodan himself.

Pretty much. Although at least I can understand why some people could rate Rodan so highly, because despite his glaring deficiencies he does also have some very clear positives. I have no ******* idea why anyone rated Ratten.
