How the **** does Ratten get so much positive press. What has he proven as a coach except for the fact he cant go deep into finals with a list that is choc full of first round draft picks and on paper probably the 2nd or 3rd best list going around?

I really dont get it.

I expect Parkin is pumping his tyres as Snr Asistant at Port - to allow his boy to keep his hand in the game.

The football media is stupid. Carlton sack Ratten yet somehow if Port don't hire him we're the ratbags? FMD.

If it is so imperative that Port Adelaide must hire Ratten as head coach, then it stands to reason that Carlton should have never sacked him in the first place.

If Ratten brings something to the table as an assistant, then i have no issue with that. Head coach though, no thanks.

If Carlton don't hire Matty Primus as head coach, they are the ratbag club we all think they are... #igetpaidtowritegarbage

Forget the media - the real question is whether Ratten's curent mindset, skills and experience could provide a benefit to Port as a Snr Assistant to Eade (or Burns or whoever). I would not like to see him as Head Coach and only the foolish would suggest a freshly dumped head coach immediately take over that same role at another club.

Because he made his thoughts public?
Given KT's head almost exploded when a leak about Primus got out, and he's been conducting a secret review all year that we only recently had confirmed, I can't see that KT would look too kindly on a recently appointed coaching appointment panelist/advisor blabbing his advice to the world before there's been an official finding for his temporary employer. What the **** is that.

I certainly hope we're not paying him if he keeps giving it away for free.

Check out Patrick Smith's article on Brett Ratten in the Australian today. .....
According to John "Pigs Arse" Elliot in this am's 'Tiser Ratten is a perfect fit for Port. How can we go past a recommendation like that?

And these are the sort of idiotic perceptions out there in the greater footy world that we're battling against.

In any case, I trust in KT to get the right man.

These Carlton flogs trying to fob Ratten off to us is laughable and akin to dumping your girlfriend and trying to set her up with whoever will take her to relieve guilt.

RATTEN'S BLOOD IS ON YOUR HANDS CARLTON YOU LOW LIFE SCUM

And no amount of post-axing scrambling will change that.

Go back and get tapes and watch all of our games post September 2004, thats all 130 games where we had 54 wins, 2 draws and 74 loses. Bet you change your mind after 30 or 40 games. So you reckon we should keep a bloke whose post flag win-loss ratio was 41%. If you are happy with that you are welcome to stay in your own quagmire. We made finals in 2005 and 2007. You made them in 2005, 2007 and 2008.

You must have been completley and utterley shattered when Laidley left. How did you ever recover from therapy. Are you the one leading the charge to sack Scott and get Dean back, the guy I see holding the plackard down at Arden street every now and then. Brad Scott like Primus missed finals after his first 2 full years as coach. Was it last October that you made your plackard and started marching on Arden Street??

Yes.

Shows a complete lack of professionalism. He is not the spokesperson for the PAFC.

As he was apparently engaged as an expert/independent adviser, all advice and discussions should done in private and not the public arena.
He's an adviser to the panel not on the panel. But granted, it's messy.
