Many of us have bemoaned the nancifying of the game by the AFL over recent years, and grumbled about the fines imposed for a bit of push and shove/melees, etc, but the sincerity of these jokers will really be put to the test if nothing is done about those two Kangaroos dickheads King and Stevens.

These are two very senior AFL players who should know better. They have set an appalling example which has been highlighted on news reports everywhere. If the AFL imposes no penalty they will be seen as p1ssweak as the cricket administrators.

If the reason these incidents are being looked at is to clean up the game, then maybe they should look at how often they are shown on tv.

It seems fairly contradictory to claim to be cleaning the game up and setting a better example for kids, and then showing these incidents seven times from five different camera angles. To follow up then they release it as one of the few highlights to be shown on the news.

Well, if King is found guilty of striking, then the tribunial will take its own course and hand out the appropriate penalty. Same goes for Stevens.

As for the incident with Stevens and the Collingwood team doctor (Dr. Paul Blackman), it was reported in today's Australian that Blackman was a former North team doctor, is a good friend of Stevens, and that throughout the incident, both parties were laughing throughout. Nonetheless, it was a silly thing for Stevens to do, but if this report is correct, then it hardly warrants any penalty for Stevens apart from a stern warning.

In regards to "cleaning up the game", how much cleaner do you want it? All the behind the play stuff has now been eliminated with video reviews and the worst thing we ever see is a melee (which incidentally, the entire crowd gets up to watch).

Yep, agree with Elt here. I remember Jason Dunstall slagging off Sheedy for the throat slitting miming at Mitchell White and saying how much of a bad example it set to kids. Which would have been fine except Dunstall was on TV and his show had just replayed the incident for the 5,332nd time. If it was such a bad thing Jason, then why the constant replays?

To state the obvious, it has nothing to do with 'bad examples' and everything to do with good rating winning television.

I don't think there was anything wrong with the way Norf played the other night. They thought that they could rough up our younger players and to an extent they were right. Good luck to them; a win was required to put dinner on their family's tables.

But everyone must remember that you could never strike anyone and really, if someone ain't wearing the oposition's colours, don't touch 'em! Especially the Doctors and Umpires, friends or no friends.

I know a former runner for Norf who gotted decked by Rod Grinter. I suggested that he fully deserved this whack. He agreed. He was under strict instructions from Pennis Fagen to occupy a place in the zone during kick ins, which would give the effect of creating space for a Norf player in the know. Rod smacked him straight in the gob when he didn't move like he was told!

King's ruffing up of our runner the other night was unwarranted and cowardly. Seriously, if you want a shot at one of our runners King you weak prick, have a go at Rowdy. He'd punch your teeth down the back of your throat before you even got a second cowardly shove in!

King is a scumbag. He wouldn't have the guts to even look at rowdy let alone hit him. A typical coward. He knows that his club is on it's death bed and no other club will pick him up in the draft. He must be frustrated at not getting paid.
