The movie was the first time i'd ever even heard of the show, loved it. Series were great aswell, expecting this to be good.

I remember watching the first few episodes of this. I was in high school and a few of us were avid Skins watchers – as I said, we were in high school – and we'd walk home Monday arvos, hope our sisters hadn't gotten to the computer first, and watch it. Then review it all night on MSN. Anyway one week, a close mate said he had the credits rolling and saw the ad for this show. Said it was alright. So we all gave it a spin and loved it.

It was the Inbetweeners.

But, as I said, we were in high school. We could relate to bad house parties, though the ones in WA beach towns would always be in backyards and the house parties of suburban London seemed like The Coolest Place as 15-year olds. As we got older and the show did, it was nice to have a tele series about getting drinks, liking girls, feeling a bit left out... at this time I was a bonafide inbetweener at school too, floating between crowds and not being popular but not being at the dregs either. This show actually meant a lot to me and sometimes when I get home drunk after a quiety at the pub I'll give an ep a spin (Night Out, the Gig, Excursion, are the ones I really remember) and it's crazy how intensely I remember that time of my life.

Now I don't understand how grown men can find it funny. For low humour it's not even that well done. I mean I can appreciate its type but it's American Pie-lite fodder (which is harsh). I don't know, I just think it's a bit weird the way people love it when it is daft shit. The movie was an absolute Barry Crocker too, so corny.

But E4 shows as a teenager were good things. My favourite moments of this show were the ends when you felt a bit sad and knew what that character felt, and then some burstin-at-the-seams Cure single would come through the credits.

The movie would have been funny if that was your first exposure to the series but if you watched the series first - the movie (IMO) was a let down.

Did anyone like the movie more than the series by watching the series first?

No. At first I thought it was nearly on par and then having watched the movie again it was a bit of a let down.

Pretty hard to match the tv series. Each episode is about 20 minutes long so you dont get any slow/boring bits. Movie cant keep that pace up and needs to generate some sort of storyline, character development etc.

The Simpsons movie is another example, plus most of the jokes have basically been used up in the tv series.

Exactly right and the movie was a let down.

That's why a second movie is not needed expect for a cash grab.

Exactly! Appreciate it for what it is.

Haven't read thread as I only just watched the pilot yesterday and don't want spoilers but really liked what I saw. The back and fourth between the guys seems pretty realistic which means you can relate to it
