I remember Mark Taylor said he got a MOTM in a low scoring ODI. Nobody got any serious runs so he got the award for taking four catches at first slip.
It was against the West Indies I think at the SCG the same summer they toured when Lara hit the 277. It rained a lot. One of the catches from memory was an absolute screamer to get rid of Keith Arthurton, diving to his right about 2 inches off the ground

Not to steal your glory, I remember Taylor's excellent captaincy throughout the game also played part in mom award going his way too..
Yes, Taylor's captaincy was figured into the man of the match award. Australia made only 101 off 30 overs in a rain-reduced match. We then bowled West Indies out for 87, and Taylor's fielding plus the use of his bowlers got him the award.
She was probably just tanke-ing.
This might get an award for the most boring match ever judging by the strike rates of The Netherlands women. Special mention to the player run out for 0 after facing 51 balls. Obviously she was getting desperate.

The great man sure ended things on a high.Stumbled across these two scorecards while looking up some other stuff. These are Richie Benaud's second last and last Shield matches for NSW in what was his final summer. Both were agains South Australia.
The first, SA won in Sydney by 2 wickets.
The second, NSW won in Adelaide by 6 runs.
These games were only a fortnight apart, beginning 17 January and 31 January 1964 respectively.
Take a look at Benaud's performances across these matches. Incredible. Also note the cadre of characters and cricket greats who took the field with him:

you would be laughed out of the selection table these days if your picked a wicketkeeper and they ended up batting at 10 or 11.Stumbled across these two scorecards while looking up some other stuff.
