Yes. Reporting from before he completed rehab and came back to the club and hasn't missed a training session and owned up to his previous behaviour.

In case you're somehow misunderstanding me the reasons above are why I'm backing the kid in.

Are you still stuck in April? Have you not seen any of the above? Or are you being deliberately obtuse? I'm unsure as to why. We have different opinions on the same situation and are both basing it on having no ****ing idea.

Look, I’m just pointing out the clear and obvious contradiction in your statements, which I think is completely fair.

For the record, I hope you’re right and I’m wrong. I’d love nothing more than for Marra to be a massive success here. And I hate the idea of losing him for cents on the dollar.

But if he’s not going to be a long term success at this club, then I hope he stays for at least another 12 months, plays good footy, shows he can commit week in week out and we get proper value for his talent.

I've been watching this saga on Facebook in Marra's hometown of Warrnambool, as the local riverside boathouse has gradually gone under water as the river mouth silted up due to low rainfall.

First the Facebook experts said "Dig out the river mouth " . So the council did. It silted up again. Then they said "Use a bigger digger! ' so the council did, and the river silted up again. Then some said 'Why are you interfering with mother nature!' Others said 'You should dig where the river flowed 30 years ago!' And still others ' Why are we wasting taxpayers money on all this digging !'

I don't quite know where I'm going with this story except to say sometimes it's best to say nothing. Admittedly this is an internet forum and Chief relies on us typing stuff for his gin & hookers. But sometimes it's best to sit on things for a bit.

You do realise you’ve completely contradicted yourself in the same breath? Obviously that contradiction isn’t lost on you... you must be doing it on purpose. No one’s that unaware.

And since you’re questioning the basis of what I’m saying, here’s a direct quote from Tom Morris:

Definitely had a dramatic change since he was drafted, but 18-year-old boys still have both facial and body changes still happening.

Training photos are often deceiving. I remember seeing one of Darcy last year and he looked very bulky.

The club has handled the situation very well to date. I have faith they will continue to.

But seriously, he has really grown into his body now & coupled with his explosiveness, he’d be a handful once his game fitness is up to scratch.

Last few pages are all a bit weird. Like people debating around the points without addressing what I think are the obvious takeaways?

What we do know is that at least Jamarra has been training consistently, which he wasn't doing from between September last year and up until his period of leave from the club. That is good. That is also concrete facts.

Other clubs may have cooled on him for no other than footballing reasons, ie, there's too much uncertainty over the actual future on-field performance from a player who has spent a year out of the game, and during that time, also missed training - nothing more than pure execution of skill and physical output that the expectations are now decreased and are uncertain than they were in August 2024, because the game moves fast and might have moved him by and if you don't train, you skills clearly atrophy. A lot of the club interest "cooled" around the time when it was not clear when Jamarra would even return to training in an AFL environment and therefore even increasing the uncertainty over future on-field output.

In fact, we can go by that logic because Sydney are a team that are interested in him, linked to him, and are the team that are most desperate to find a solution to their tall forward quandry over the last few years. If teams that were/weren't linked to him for reasons other than footballing reasons (ie there is an expectation that he will come back strongly next year), he's good enough to be a best 22 player at any club in the league, so threre should be no correlation with the clubs that are interested in him and the clubs that are desperate for a key forward (Geelong post-Cameron, Sydney, etc.).

And talking about people he associates with ... I mean, to an extent, the reason it was an issue was the impact it was having on his health/mental health, and the impact it was having on his ability to fulfil his duties as an AFL contracted footballer (ie, turn up to training on time). If his therapy and mental health work has improved his mental wellbeing and he can return to his contractual duties, as he now has the ability to manage his relationships or his takeaways from those relationships differently, to an extent, we should not really care that those relationships are maintained.

I thought it was strange how quickly some on here dismissed Bevo’s change of tone when it came to Marra in last week’s press conference. Clearly, it hasn’t been smooth sailing. It appears he still has a lot of the same influences around him. It’s going to be hard to change behaviour if you don’t change the environment.

I think by the end of the season, it might be in Marra’s best interests to move interstate and find a new environment where he’s away from all of these influences.

Building a program around the three ( I had to google the hosts, only to find the human ham in a can was third) of the biggest hacks and muck rakers in AFLMeida is everything wrong with how the game is covered.

It may garner clicks and outrage (yes, Im aware...) but ultimately all its going to do is drive peoples antipathy towards the game. Just as real journalism and social media has done in the political sphere. "It's all corrupt, so why should I bother!!!" - Joe Citizen.



I think we need to stick to the timetable and training program that the club set out for him as condition of his return to the club and not let the tail wag the dog*.

Hes now into his 3rd week back at the club. If things go as planned there is a possibility that he could return to playing in as little as 3 weeks from now. If thats not something for him to work towards then I dont know what is.



*There is nothing to indicate that either party thinks otherwise.

But doesn't he have to wait for the medical report from the AFL doctors to report to the medical to the AFL FIRST BEFOR HE CAN PLAY

The best updates are no updates IMO. There was always going to need to be an extended period of head down training with no issues for serious progress to be made.
