Yeah I meant my read on Bevo’s comments today. But agree, it’s likely always been the scenario.
Bevo is sick of him and it,

The lack of contact which he confirmed today says it all for me,

Listen to Doc or any other former/current player and they will tell you how good and strong his connection with his players is and the fact he has very little now is damning for Marra

This is how I read it. Bevo would usually fight and protect his players more in the media and even be defensive, today there was none of that and it was very telling.

Yep given his wars with Korn/Caro/Morris/Barrett just to name a few he will always go the extra length to defend any of the boys,

The fact he is not here openly saying how infrequent he has been there and how little they speak shows how quickly he wants rid of him

My read on the situation based on the comments today, is if there’s a trade opportunity we’ll likely take it (however Marra also has to agree to this, so if a suitor does emerge conversations will need to take place) but if there’s no takers (which it’s starting to look like there won’t be), we’ll take him into 2026 & hope that the new year brings that fresh start that he needs to reignite his career.

Yeah I didn't really read anything into the entire situation other than it's not impacting the club at all - which as someone who supports the club first (there may be a very very few exceptions) and it's custodians second, is all I want.

At what point during a non-appearance at preseason would the AFL let us tear up the contract?

That presser spoke volumes for me.. Bevo ain’t interested at all.

I think it’s mostly as he doesn’t want to talk about Marra, but also a fair bit about our season being do or die in 3 days and he definitely doesn’t want to talk about shit unrelated to that

And we picked up James Odonell a few years later who technically would’ve been apart of that draft crop if he wasn’t playing cricket.

As well as poulter for free who went at pick 30 in that draft. Not sure if he makes it or not but we still got to grab another player around that age group from the 2020 draft
Davidson only slightly older too. The JUH debacle won’t hurt us in terms of age profile. Just a shame we’ve had to pay him $800k plus this year and likely won’t get any compo.

Whether he stays or goes, I find it impossible to imagine that the club would risk the thought of 2026 being a repeat of 2025 with Jamarra.
The cats will find a way to pay nothing for him and turn him into the next Jezza Cameron

I honestly don’t think there’s a chance of this happening.

He has undeniable talent to be premier forward in the competition but to reach that you need to embrace the grind of the AFL system. Jamarra simply likes football but not AFL.

I don’t think you could ever get the full buy in required to be a constantly great AFL player over a long period of time. There were red flags everywhere even before the last 12 months.

If the recent thoughts of this board were representative of the clubs stance. Then it'd be a bit rich whinging about another club taking the risk of Jamarra on and turning him around for the cost of a single peanut.

Wonder what JUH is doing this weekend, given The Love Machine is closed?

Tom Morris reported tonight Jamarra won’t be at the Dogs next year and no other clubs are interested, will not be on a list next year.
Jay Clark reported that the club will just rip up the contract pay him out
