I can see a scenario where Jamarra is playing VFL within 2-3 weeks and fails to set the world on fire for weeks. The narrative will suddenly shift to, "Is Jamarra physically up to playing AFL this season?"

Getting himself right mentally is one thing, but we'll perhaps need convincing he's EVEN physically up to it this year.
That's just your negative bulldogs brain talking

Around gather round was the ideal timeline for him

Yeah he’s a dickhead.

But that’s ok, lots of players are.
Yep
He is 22 and no where near the maturity of a professional footballer.

We signed him for 2 years whilst multiple year offers were on the table.

Too many critics of the club on this issue.

Yet the club in reality recognised the issue and still have him under contract.

JUH recognises he is not ready for proper commitment but is taking steps forward.

His background really is irrelevant. He has the next 6 months to prove he is committed to football. Never at any stage has he indicated he wants away from our club. The opposite actually.

Ignore the.media and judge by actions which this week are positive.

He is either playing football with us which with maturity will become more embracing or he is not playing football.

Support him fully, we will either be rewarded or he will not be playing. But he is more likely to embrace football with us if he is fully supported

His team mates are working their ass off getting ready for a game and once again he’s on the piss. Not just on the piss but posting about it on social media.

This bloke has absolutely zero care about football. What a waste. Chose to hangout with his dropkick mates instead of setting himself up for life.

To be honest I bet he’s over all the media attention/scrutiny. It must be really tiresome. Marra is a day younger than me, I know I certainly couldn’t handle that level of beratement.

I think most people (Dogs fans in particular) are rubbed the wrong way by the content/frequency of his posts at a time where he’s supposedly struggling; doesn’t necessarily send the right message when he’s out on the beers, etc. I personally don’t mind it, for every “controversial” post there are numerous posts of him boxing, training and keeping fit.

Whilst it would help if there was some real clarification for his absence, he’s well within his right not to have to share any of that information with the public.

He’s not without fault, but I really feel for the bloke. Hope he’s making the right steps mentally to get back to playing, though he could definitely make it easier on himself by stepping out of the instagram limelight for the time being.

Do you think VitalDread might have had you in mind when he/she posted, DiamondDogs8 ? Let's ask him/her, eh ?

IF… making a fair and balanced contribution on a player thread about that player is ‘parasocial’

THEN… we may as well close this thread

I’m just playing devil’s advocate. If you disagree with anything I said, let me know :)

Good to see a youngster up and about this early, cow milking time ? Interesting word, that, parasocial, whilst I suspect it's directed at Ugle-Hagan skeptics, it can equally be applied to those who get overexcited at the suggestion that young Jamarra might have attended 2 training session in a row ! Crickey, if I was on just under a mil a year, I'd cop sitting next to a bloke with more pictures on him than the National Gallery (pinched from Lou Richards' description of Rob McGie) listening to the worst music ever and missing...never mind. Stick fat.

why are we accepting that it’s ok for a bloke to go out drinking on a Friday during the season? I don’t give a shit if it’s his birthday, he shouldn’t be getting pissed on a Friday night during the season.

We are setting the bar very low for him now.

Good Morning Lindsay_Gilbee, on behalf of VitalDread, have to object to your reference to human excreta in the vernacular, it's Saturday morning, children now awake, up and about. That said, upon which side of VitalDread's parasocial dichotomy do you consider you are ?

Geez come on now. The vast majority of AFL players would get pissed during the season.

The bigger issue is that he continues to hang out with these questionable influences and appears to have no interest in changing that part of his life.

Questionable ? The bloke in the middle looks like my local vicar and the fair haired bloke his, ahem ahem, sacristan. Just the sort of blokes with whom you'd want a wayward player to hang out.

Is it just me that thinks "why's that guy in the middle got his hands where they are?"
🤨

You must be an Art critic, nobody looks below the throat. It occurs to me that you might be a Ugle-Hagan stooge setting up a claim against St James Vicarage in 30 years time.

If people don’t think a bloke publicly getting pissed pretty much every weekend while he is physically healthy and not playing or even consistently training for his professional football team, while still taking home 100% of his salary isn’t an issue we really are pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes.

What incentive does this bloke have to make a change? He doesn’t care about footy. He’s even said it himself. We really are setting the standard lower and lower for him.
