Looks like the crows screwed as over again like they did in 97 preliminary final where we let Jarman kill us in the last 10 minutes. However, this time we could do nothing about it. They made us pay equivalent to pick 1 for Jamarra who could not care less if he plays again and they get Thilthorpe.

I wonder how much Tom Libratore can help him? He was going off the rails early and even mid career. He’s putting together a good to great career now. Have heard mixed reports about how he relates to all the different types of people within a footy club, but he could be a big help to Jamarra?
Someone like Bont is probably way too professional and thoughtful for Jamarra to relate to. Those wannabe gangsters he is hanging around with are just deadbeats with no future, but they think they’re big and tough now. Jamarra might relate to Tom, both who he is and what he had to do to make a good career.

What we need is a Rick Kennedy, Jim Edmond, Ted Whitten or Doug Hawkins type of player around the club to have a quiet chat with him to sort out his priorities

Guys, it’s ok, it’s his birthday! Totally acceptable behaviour of a professional athlete. Actually can’t believe some people are defending him. I couldn’t imagine being the team mate of a bloke who’d rather get pissed with drop kicks than do his job with his team.

Lads.

Crooks - the bloke is deliberately attempting to reduce his trade value (for another teams benefit). The dogs are hopefully getting the AFL to do their job and allow us to register a breach of contract.
Not convinced he is doing anything other than getting trashed and cooked.

He ain’t in control of his vices.

We know Bont, Naughts and Lobbster have gone out of their way to reach out and I'd bet Libba, Adz and others have too.

There is no shortage of good leaders in our playing group. Either the penny drops or it doesn't

I take it this a recent photo if so I am beyond holding any hope he will ever play for us again.

From outside looking in, the way the club is handling the situation seems reasonable.

Whilst Marra seems to be doing his best to make himself look foolish, the club looks like it is trying to be as caring and compassionate as possible but letting enough info out to show the football world that they have still been setting boundaries. Otherwise, they have been getting on with the job of trying to win football matches without him.

The club is giving Marra the chance to learn his lessons, get his act together and hopefully come back to play, but it is clearly on the club's terms.

The club is also showing that we will be fine either way.

If he ain’t in control of his vices, then who is? Unfortunately he is the only one in control of his vices. He is the one steering his own life for good or for bad. He has more help than anyone ever could. Ultimately it’s up to him and no one else.

True but Kennedy, Edmond, Whitten and Hawkins has "special" skills that may have helped him decide which path to follow

He doesn’t know them, they would be just names to him. He would need someone whose opinions and advice he respects - at the moment that’s his friends.

Anyway, this is all useless speculation. As Bevo said, there’s only so much a busy club can do, and there are outsiders also involved. Ultimately Jamarra is the only one who can decide his future path.

A couple of questions, is this a recent photo on his Instagram account or was it posted elsewhere?

Does anyone recognise the other people in the photo?

What I was saying is that his vices are in control of him. Lost cause until he hits rock bottom sort of deal.

I see what you're trying to say but all the above played in a very different era. Nowadays, players have far more power, wealth and 'rights'. They also have 'get out' options; if they mess up with one club, they can always easily move on to another.

Are we all jumping to conclusions? Sure, the photo doesn’t paint a good picture, but we have no idea if Marra is only having a couple, half strength perhaps?? Is a couple of drinks in a Friday night a big deal? I’d say most players would have a beer or two on a Friday or a Saturday. Would have close to zero impact on performance the next day or the following - would have to be half tanked with little sleep to severely impact performance.
