Barrett linking Dunkley, Smith and Marra together as the same issue. He is an absolute grub an absolute bottom feeder of the highest order.
Smith and Marra have off field dramas in common and Dunkley’s issue was people like Smith and Marra. Can’t say they’re the same thing at all.

Being somewhat fair to Dunkley (while I still think he’s a prima donna) we had Smith, Hunter, Marra and others running around during his last year and maybe we could have cracked down harder. Who knows.

From what I understand Bevo did have a bit of a relaxed, trusting attitude as long as they were professional at the club, then the club tried getting him to crack down in 2023. Some players tantrumed a bit.

I suspect these dramas are going on at most clubs. It’s just our turn at the moment.

Listen to the interview he did before the Indigenous All-Stars game and tell me—does he sound like someone who thinks he has mental health issues? He even says this is the happiest he’s ever been 😂 we've been taken for a ride
Yep that's the interview i was thinking of

Happy for other people to confirm or deny as this is third hand information

Been told Dogs are trying to terminate his contract but AFL won't allow it
Yes, this is correct and has beem for a while. I put it in a thread a while ago.

Might be wishful thinking but is there any possibility we get AFL compensation from this? Years of NGA investment, our whole draft haul to match the #1 bid, an $800k contract.... This is an extremely awful situation we find ourselves in.
I think if another club takes him during the period he was contracted then there’s a case for it (but it’ll be crap).

Otherwise it’s a Tarryn Thomas situation unfortunately.

What would it take, do you think?
3 strikes (probably already there) and a serious assault. Bringing the game into repute.

The AFL are entering uncharted waters but it is their responsibility now. If they ‘wing it’ (keep the contract alive) and something terrible happens to either JUH or someone else it is on them.

Get Peter Gordon involved. He will shake up that monopoly of Private School cronyism and ruffle the hair of Dillon (what a useless campaigner).

It sounds like we have applied for compensation and we're waiting to hear back from the AFL. But an answer is unlikely to be provided any time soon.

8 mins ago you said there's something seriously rotten about "bevo and that club". Then six minutes later you say any club that takes on JUH will have the same issues.

So which one is it?

The first one come from another board I deleted it not hard to work out

It makes sense now that I've read your post a second time.

Which board did that come from? There's literally half a dozen clubs that have it in for us but I'll narrow it down to four.

I'm guessing either Geelong, St Kilda, Sydney or Melbourne?

Come from Geelong board page 339 on their player trading thread, Drafting FA thread

I'd speculate that the AFL and the club both agree he should be terminated.

The negotiating point around compensation is going to be around the decision to extend his contract.

The AFLs starting position would be, you extended him, your problem. At face value, that seems fair enough. However, if material factors like strikes were known to the AFL but not the club, then the club could reasonably argue that the non disclosure to clubs element of the AFLs reporting system compromised the Dogs in terms of making an informed list decision.

I'd speculate that compensation centres around how much blame the club and the AFL are both willing to accept publicly along with how much each is going to pony up to pay him out .. in full. The two might be linked. The club cops all the payout and gets a good compo pick. The AFL pays some/all and the club doesn't get a compo pick but has its cap relieved.

While I'd much rather he get his life together and make a miracle turn around. An end of first round pick to get another midfielder this year would be fine.
Offer that this time last year and it would have been seen as a disaster.

With current circumstances, I'd take that in a heartbeat.

It's a shame, but a top 20 pick would be a good outcome in a shit situation.

IMO he’s a lost cause now, regardless of what’s happening behind closed doors his public attitude tells anything but being committed to the club and his playing career.

The byproduct of throwing obscene amounts of cash at kids still wet behind the ears
