So what is stopping him?

Mental health is playing a role in this, but could be a huge mix of things, including embaressment its gone this far for this long.

There is also a potential conflict between what is in the player's interests and what is in the club's interests, which might make reconciliation very, very difficult.

If Marra were my child, I would be prepared to exercise a lot more patience, support, and forgiveness than a club/employer that is responsible for 44 players and the performance expectations of its supporters.

The club is in a very tough situation and can probably please no one now.

I'm sure the embarrassment factor is part of it.

Will probably always carry the reluctant/lazy (or worse) tag, and will be reminded of it every week and by every opposition supporter base.

Won't be easy to deal with.

When it’s all said and done if he did happen to make a comeback and be a meaningful dogs player I am sure the supporters will wrap there arms around him.

I am an eternal optimist admittedly.
There is definitely a way out (even if unlikely). Show up to every training, work your arse off, keep your head down, do the defensive work. All would be forgiven in 2 months.

I'd be okay with that set up. Means he's still on our list for the life of the contract but we save big $$ next year (this year is a sunk cost).

There's the very real prospect he turns it around next year and we'd either prefer him on the list in 2027, or another club trades for him.

The Koschitzke interview was a fascinating insight into some of the mental health issues players face. Hoping they lose games so he didn't have to perform in finals the next week due to the anxiety of it all

And then the shame he felt having to face his teammates afterwards. It seems quite similar to this

As a supporter, and not that it means much, I'd forgive Jamarra if things turned around. I hope others would as well, I understand why people are disgruntled with his actions and I've had my fair share of views on that, but ultimately he's still a pretty young man and he hasn't hurt anybody.

From the AFL's viewpoint (presumably) you wouldn't want too many of these going down.

They foot the bill and the club pays the price with no, little or belated salary cap relief....and no functional player.

Seems to me it should be a bit of a watershed moment and opportunity to get the AFL, clubs and AFLPA in a room to thrash this out for the longer term. Surely the AFLPA can see this is not a good situation for player, club or competition to be in.

Point 1 in the discussion might be how can the clubs make informed offers and list management decisions if relevant information is withheld under privacy provisions. Sure, the AFL pays the bill, however, there are salary cap and list issues for the club when it goes pear shaped ... not to mention the drama. But if all relevant information were available to the club the offer and subsequent payments may never materialise.

Generational player in one sense

I've been told Geelong are very much still interested but likely only as a delisted free agent if his current contract is torn up.
His management suggest he move interstate, Jamarra wants to stay in Victoria. Moving out of Melbourne seems like the most anyone could get him to agree to.
reeks of collusion…

Have also heard Juh has shacked up with Warnys youngest daughter who herself is off the rails.
cleveland - you and I are on the same page.

I want our money back. I want to bash bikies as well. Drop dead grubs who prey.

Never met a bikie who can actually ride a Harley funnily enough. Just steroids, fakes missus’s with fake lips - come at me you campaigners.

For what it's worth, he was in the gym before 4am this morning.
Straight from the clubs though?
I'm not hearing good things right now.

We agreed to his contract, how is it that we are being reamed?
And he agreed to the terms of that contract. He's breaching those terms.
Unfortunately all contacts are held via the AFL and we can't just terminate without their approval. If we could I think he would have been gone weeks/months ago.

We know the way it works. We did a great job limiting the impact to a 2-year contract.
