It may be that there is no mechanism to remedy the situation before trade period if JUH fulfills the bare minimum under his contractual obligations. Possibly along the Smith lines where you make yourself available for rehab or training and the club, with the wider playing groups interests at heart, p1ss you off overseas for a while so you don't fcuk everyone else up. It's not ideal ... but here we are ... again.I know Bev mentioned that these things crystallise at the end of the season, and in terms of structured processes that’s true, but I really don’t see how this situation can be left to continue this way for the rest of year. What more can the club do for this guy? The total disregard for his responsibilities as a contracted AFL player is astonishing and the club ultimately pays for this in multiple ways.
This might be something that can be addressed beyond this season but it seems like we're stuck with it this year.
In the meantime....that Darcy goes alright.
