Come on, they are swamp rats the way they sniff and manipulate some deals, but even Geelong wouldn’t tell a player to trash their career, and their standing in the game to move to Geelong.
Not sure i believe they aren't capable of anything really. Dodgy organisation.

Right now they're being audited, by themselves

I am no longer sure of the point of this thread.

Cleavland and others were always on point and accurate.

JUH will never play for us. More likely than not will not play AFL so trade and compensation are meaninless discussions.

The kid has very serious issues, football is the last of them.

Sadly as a club, if we thought we were burnt by Smith, that is nothing to what is happening here. But we have no option but to move on as soon as we can, recalibrate and remove all distractions and have a decent crack at this year

I just don't believe Geelong aren't involved in all of it
Your allowed to be suspicious of Geelong, Personally hate the campaigners, but this looks like it is more serious than that

Happy for other people to confirm or deny as this is third hand information

Been told Dogs are trying to terminate his contract but AFL won't allow it
Hopefully they're sending that daily email I suggested a while back.

I think the AFL will eventually rip it up and grant our termination when they can no longer stand the scrutiny and speculation. I think we're close.

This is do nothing but damage to the integrity of the system and contracts and other clubs would be in solidarity with us I'd imagine because they could very easily find themselves in the same boat.

It's in the OP.

A lot of people want to talk about the JUH saga or get regular updates on it. Like it or not, it's a legit topic.
So this is a place for all that, and to stop the Jamarra chatter clogging up our other regular threads, which is what used to happen.

No other purpose really.
It seems to be working tolerably well so far.

I think he’d be very long odds to play at any other club. There’s nothing sinister going here for JUH to piss off elsewhere.

Dunks and Smith might’ve been jerks, but they’re both professionals. This is very different.

Absolute best case is that JUH turns his life around pretty quickly and be available say start of pre season at the end of the year. Odds of that happening seem pretty slim.

Otherwise another club waits for him to sit out another year or takes on a big one year contract and they risk him short term for 2026? Both scenarios are unlikely.

As it stands, I don’t see him playing AFL again, although it’s still in his hands (somewhat).

A few references in this thread to how Bailey Smith “shafted” us. Is that solely about him nominating only Geelong as his destination club or was there something else ? Not disputing that he put us in a corner just want to clarify that I haven’t missed anything else.

Didn’t he just give up on the club as well and completed his rehab elsewhere? He was barely turning up to the club either.

How many players returning from a serious injury turn away from the clubs resources?

I also think the poll is valuable that you have added dogwatch. 80% don’t think he will play for the dogs and 16.4% ‘don’t care’ (not sure why that was an option) 😂

What has jamarra done. In black and white? everyone seems to tippy toe around saying exactly the things he has done?
Just curious

Even pre ACL he knew was not going to re-sign so he let his contract expire so his eventual trade demand would mean the Cats give up as little as possible for him. Will within his rights but obviously stuffed us come negotiating.

And the suggestion he was being paid by Cotton On while he was playing for us for the specific purpose of claiming the sponsorship was not club dependent and therefore outside the salary cap.

There was also the unnecessary put-down where he said something like he’d “outgrown” the club (somebody else might remember the exact words).

He was probably only reaching for some weaselwords to justify his lack of loyalty but it came over as arrogant and demeaning. And implied that Geelong was on a different level as a club.

With that one he probably earned himself a bit of attention next time we meet the Cats.

This is the big factor for me. He basically signed for Geelong the moment he inked his sponsorship deal. All the instagram pics of him yet never any with his teammates or Bulldog related.

We stood by him through his trials and tribulations. There is no doubt we were absolutely used and taken advantage of by Smith and the Cats and that’s why it leaves a bitter taste. There are ways to go about a trade and that wasn’t it.

He’ll be playing AFL next year, and probably back to kicking 30-40 goals. He isn’t lost to football, he’s just quitting the club like several others before him. Why it keeps getting to this point for us with players is debatable, but you can only have so many one-off situations before they’re not really one-offs any more.

I hope the people wanting to sack him without getting anything back in a trade aren’t missing their noses. There’s no way the club is trying to do that, at most they’ll be seeking to shift him on to the LTI list for the rest of the year to free up an extra list spot. I’m certain that is what Bev was referring to. We’ve got him under contract for two years, giving him away for free so he can wander into whichever club he likes and we’re left holding our dicks would be ludicrous.

It was unsure / don’t care. Not everyone has a categorical view (even those who do care) so I didn’t want to make it a simple binary.
