“My understanding is there are now meaningful discussions around what a Jamarra Ugle-Hagan exit would look like before the end of the season.

“As it stands, there is now a real possibility in the next month or so, that it’s mutually agreed that he takes indefinite leave from the club and doesn’t return in 2025.

Indefinite leave. Not terminating his contract. Can we please put that nonsense to bed.

It also doesn’t make a lick of difference to him if all clubs bar one aren’t interested, he only needs the one club he wants to go to to be on board. And I guarantee there’s a club.

Can’t help thinking that if Gil McLachlan was still running the show, some intestinal fortitude might have been shown and we’d be well advanced in cleaning up this mess?
Unlike the current bozo, who prattles on with meaningless sentences more akin to a politician leading up to an election!.. Bloody disgrace he is…

The current AFL administration are some of the worst we've had since the 90ties.

There will definitely be someone willing to give him a chance.

I do wonder if they’ll do it for his $900k asking price next season.

Sorry for intruding but who is JUH's manager and why has he stayed suspiciously silent in the media as Jamarra's off field attitude and problems continue to mount?

Doesn't seem like he is doing much of anything to try salvage his client's playing career unless (as some suspect) he is already in cahoots with another club for next year, if that is proven to be true, that agent should be barred/reregistered for life, like Ricky Nixon.

I genuinely feel angry and empathetic for you Dogs fans, and the AFL is too gutless to help your club out.

Unsurprisingly he’s with Connors, who got Smith to tank his value so Geelong could get him cheap.

Second round picks likely go into the 50s this year. i dount the draft goes passed through third round.
It may be semantics but last year fourth round picks were in the 50s, which is what I think most people think when they’re talking about fourth round. It might end up being different this year, but it doesn’t make much difference - draft compensation for him will likely be weak.

Any thought of getting even a late first rounder is gone if he doesn’t get on the park.

I don't think we are trying to cut him. I think, as some have said. Trying to put him on LTI List, so that

1. Jamarra has more time to get himself right. And remove one stress/battle.
2. So that we can use a list spot or two in the Mid Season draft to help the team out
3. Reduce payments on current contract, as he has breached it and will likely not be getting every cent regardless. But may be cut further by the AFL.
4. We don't want to piss away an asset we gave up so much for nothing at all. So either we will trade him at the end of the season to whoever is interested. Something is better than nothing. Or hold on the hope that he can right himself and be a player in 2026.

Am I reading this right?
The AFL holds his contract.
The AFL allows him to disrespect his contract by him withdrawing his services.
The Bulldogs are effectively short a player in their top 10 performers.
The AFL does not compensate the Bulldogs for the loss of a player of this calibre.

Surely the Bulldogs have a legal right to sue the AFL for what is basically a restraint of trade.

The whole thing is astounding. It's saying that any AFL contractor can walk off the job, get paid as usual, and perhaps return to work when it suits them.

If we are looking at a pick in the 50 then that'll be a late second. The first round is likely 30+ picks.

**** Barrett and his petty feud with Bevo, shits me to tears.
It's back to back weeks he has posted some similar s**t. If he had ANY credibility as a journalist, he would know Smith, Hunter, Stringer, were all trouble off the field. Nothing to do with Bevo. Smiths ego is also so flipping big, it didn't even take Geelong much to pull him over. Dunkey left on good terms with the coach, and was more disgruntled about the rat pack, party boy, unprofessional types. But Barrett doesn't give a stuff about facts.

How about Barrett actually put misbehaving players under the scope? The club isn't telling them to get shit faced, crash into cars, snort coke, not rock up to training, and be unprofessional outside the clubs doors. Nah, just takes the easy way out with petty snipes at Bevo. Oddly hasn't said too much about other clubs moving on trouble makers.

I would love to see Barrett V Bevo in the boxing ring all proceeds going to RCH appeal. Wonder if he bleeds red or purple.

Yes, JUH had brought the game (AFL) into disrepute. The good thing is it’s that early in the season JUH has 20 weeks to be hidden away without f**king up - unlikely.
