Riewoldt's dive probably cost us a grand final appearance.
I was 27 once and I wasn't trying to pick up school girls for fun.
Deserves all the s**t thrown his way.
Jamara's behaviour has been unfortunate, both for the club and himself, but I'm happy for him to defend himself against hypocrites having pot shots.

As the old saying goes "walk a mile in my shoes before judging".

Can this thread take a Leave of Absence?

Seconded . And some people need to take a holiday from this thread ...

Bigfooty is social media. And posting multiple times per hour in a thread basically repeating yourself says you are.... an attention seeker ? Or is it a cry for help ?

Not sure this reflects well on Jamarra as it's him trying to point out because there's other misbehaviour in the past, it's a defence of his misbehaviour, which really isn't the lesson that he should be taking from all this.

Comparing the two or the fact that Jamarra can find the hypocrisy/irony in the situation is kind of irrelavent here and it doesn't either help his mental health or whatever program he's on that needs to fit his contract, surely.
It absolutely does not reflect well on him.

It’s an amusing online gotcha that on the one hand made me smile and on the other confirms that he’s off the planet.

Don't blame Nick, blame Steve McInerney

I don’t understand your last 2 lines. Feel free to elaborate. Riewoldt > JUH in every way.
Guy with obvious mental health issues.

Acts out.

It seems a difficult concept for those amongst us who cant look beyond what's in the clubs best interest.

But here we are.

A bit over the top Norm. Stop trying so hard.

I'll take it under advisement.

Do you mean the image that was leaked without his consent by a schoolgirl on Facebook, or are you talking about another dick pic?

Yes. That pic.

How that pic came to be in her hands and the players involved was the subject of some debate. One thing is certain and thats that there was a massive power imbalance between her and a club/management/league system designed to cover up and make player indiscretions go away.

Riewoldt maybe been an innocent bystander to all of this or not. I dont know and for mine and the subject at hand it doesn't really matter.

What I do know is that he was embroiled in a scandal of his own. Just like JUH.

You think that after all the club has done on his behalf since he went off the rails sometime late last year.

That he is taking life lessons on board or acting in a rational way right now?

Try taking a look at this cluster**** of a situation from beyond what's in the clubs best interests.

Oh, it very relevant. If you're not in a great place mental health wise and perceive that you're under constant attack. Then you're going to want to clap back. We should be thankful that (putting aside the media and this places huffing and puffing) Jammarah did it in the most amusingly benign of ways. When he could've just as easily gone on Social Media and put Riewoldt, the club and all of his many detractors on full blast and burnt all of his bridges.

Putting aside all of the rumours floating about. Thus far all we've seen is Jamarrah not turning up at the club regularly enough to be considered fit to play and him acting like your typical 23 year old Social Media arsehat.

What we've also seen is a complete disregard for the validity of his mental health issues by many people in here and out there. Something that nearly always happens when a player steps outside of the game to the detriment of a club and its rabid supporter bases.

People need to get over the sunk cost of his salary. Given the constraint that player contracts place upon the clubs. Its gone.

The club clearly has and has decided that it can get on this year without him.

I don't think anyone is comparing them, certainly not to a deeper level then they've both made mistakes. Obviously one is more severe then the other however the way Nick has been speaking of late has seemed quite preachy to me and rather over the top given his mistakes are also public knowledge.
Perhaps Nick is hoping that Marra can get back on track before theres irreversible damage. We can all learn from others' mistakes.

The sooner we cut that remaining thread to him the better. You would think you might pipe down a bit after this week, but nope. Clearly doesn't give a s*** so neither should we.
I'd guess he's unstable but also belligerent with a hint of self destruction. Might not be caring how it ends for him. Gripped by an addiction of some sort.

It's necessary to terminate him a from work a place/environment but that's different to withdrawing support. It's available to him. Whether he chooses to engage with it is another thing.

If he comes right at all it'll be a long road and I don't expect footy will be part of it.

I actually don’t find it funny at all to be honest. It’s petty and immature, and I’ve been one of Jamarra’s defenders.

The thing is to separate the issues here.

Marra the footballer, the employee, the colleague, the team mate is no more and can be no more. Forget the money and trade value etc it's a systemic issue in large part that gets us to this place. Those costs are sunk.

Marra the person has some significant obstacles to overcome if he's to be anything at all. It's reasonable for his team mates to hope he comes right and support him in terms of encouragement to get better, and the club. It's also reasonable that they wouldn't want to  work with him again.

The footy environment and spotlight is no place to start a recovery of this nature. It's best for everyone he's not part of it.

I want the media following him around and asking him with cameras in his face what exactly is going on with him. Does he not feel embarrassed putting that display picture? ****ing grow up.

That achieves nothing but keep it in the news cycle. He's not gonna change in the short to medium term and that sort attention could amplify his issues.

The best thing that could happen is the media move on to the next thing and Marra disappears.
