Several times this year I’ve wondered after close losses.

If this guy made different life choices we probably pinch at least another 2 wins. Maybe 3.

Such a shame for our club.
We kicked a high enough score to win. Conceding 20 goals was the problem

To me it’s not as straightforward as that.

JUH being available allows the magnets to be spun. Buku to help across the backline, move Naughty back when he’s had down patches.

Instead we have Duryea forward tonight. I think we are crying out for an additional tall and the cupboard due to unavailability is bare.

Buku is shit as a defender is much better in the role and balance wise is helping more than Marra however we are missing him now with the Darcy injury

I’m more speaking about the flexibility an additional tall would offer.

I’m still in the Naughton forward camp but there’s certainly been times when I’ve advocated for him to be put down back or even in the ruck. Instead we can’t do that because we need tall forward representation.

The availability of JUH right now would give us greater flexibility in a time of need. I think it’s cost us at least 2 games not having this option.

We're better with Buku forward and JOD back. We've kicked decent scores minus Darcy, JUH & Weightman, just the defensive lapses have been costly.

Duryea it's fair to say is no longer best 22, could just as easily replace him with Darcy or Weightman and win tonight.

Whilst I appreciate the sentiment. This isn't a case of what ifs. Whilst it's a shame for our club for the implications it places on our season, some things are bigger then football and mental health is one of those things.
We as a club are strong and proud, we will make adjustments and strengthen on the fly, however our love of the club needs to be completely detached from the much more significant situation here, which is that a young man has lost his way and is on a tough road to recovery. Whilst I want the club and Jamarra to both be Successful the two things have to remain in separate universes for the time being.

Agree with you 100%

Just look at what he did at Geelong last year.

JUH makes a HUGE difference makes us better makes us more dangerous makes a real threat

The caveat is a fully fit JUH mind and body

Nope. Bloke kicks at 33%. Don't think he'd help too much in the close ones.

I feel you’re overestimating where Jamarra’s development is at. We’re missing Cody far more than him.
There is some serious underrating of Jamarra's football ability going on here, seeingly because we dont like the life choices he's made. Last half of last season (final excluded) he was our best forward and we were pumping teams. If you think that player wouldnt help the team as it currently sits without Darcy or Weightman, you've got rocks in your head

Way to misrepresent what I said. I was merely making the point that I don’t think he would’ve been the difference last night. Jamarra is still developing, he was playing well last year without tearing games apart and would absolutely be an upgrade on Naughton right now but that’s not why we lost. We lost because our mids and, by extension, defence were smashed in the second and our accuracy in front of goal was horrendous.

I said that we’re missing Cody more than Jamarra and stand by that. To suggest my opinion is based on what is happening with Jamarra off the field is utter nonsense.

In a game where bad kicking at goal cost us a win a bloke that goes at 33% wouldn't have been the difference IMO.

It cost us a final with him in last year because of his issues…

Truth is nobody knows what he is thinking. Addicts have a huge battle to overcome their addiction. If he can he then has to be able to have the discipline to play elite sport. The latest I have heard he does not have an issue with the dogs and if plays again which is a big if he is every chance to play with us.

woundnt be surprised to see JUH playing for geelong next season
Last I spoke to an internal person at the Dogs about JUH the concensus is we won't be trading him unless it's some form of godfather offer.

If he is playing football next year it will be at the dogs.
I would be ecstatic for Jamarra, if he just got back to playing football, full stop, even better with the Dogs. Imagine the journey he would have undertaken across these months, the resilience, courage and will to get there, and continually dealing with it for the rest of his life.
