It is such a difficult situation, I mean on one hand moving interstate might give him a fresh start away from these bad influences, but on the other hand he will be away from his family.

The suggestion that there seems to be a bikie connection is concerning, as once you get mixed up with them they demand loyalty, and things can get nasty if you try to extricate from them.

There’s no indication he even wants a “fresh start”. He seems quite comfortable living the way he does, with people whose company he enjoys.

Yes, I understand how the AFL’s remuneration framework is structured. My concern is, firstly, that we’re not being allowed to terminate his contract despite what appears to be a clear breach. Secondly, regardless of whether his salary falls within the TPP, he should not be entitled to any further payment beyond this season.

If the AFL genuinely wishes to support him, that assistance should come in the form of access to specialist care and support networks not through ongoing financial handouts. The worst thing for him at this stage would be more free cash to enable poor decisions and fund a destructive lifestyle.

The AFL has presumably set rules, parameters, whatever, around the continuation of the contract, but they must decide if and when these are not met and if not, why not. The tipping point must be getting closer.

There’s no way he could’ve seen as meeting the conditions of his contract. It would be beyond a joke if we are forced to include anything towards him in the salary cap after all of this and the club doing everything they could to make things right.

It uses Morris' own reportage about Jamarra's friend being involved in in a scuffle outside the nightclub as if it's another independent source. He then goes onto to pontificate about what he thinks the future holds for Jammers future at the club.

He of course makes no further mention of the scuffle as other reporting on the incident indicates that he was leaving the nightclub and waiting on the arrival of an Uber.

Personally, I couldn't give two poos about the bloke. He's living his choices.
BUT, the Dogs are down a player, and have been all year and the AFL hasn't done a thing to address our list being one short.
On the upside, with the imminent arrival of Snoop Dogg, the AFL could relieve Marra of his duties and transfer them to Snoop Dogg's entourage.

I saw it and it's a perfectly reasonable take when it comes to matters of trust and it may align with the clubs view on the matter. But the reality is that he's just another talking head talking from the perspective of an outsider looking in. His perspective is little different to anybody in this place.

That perspective may be correct. Or it may not be.

It certainly aligns with the perfectly predictable pile on thats going on within this thread.

What we do know for certain is that its pretty evident that the club has parked him for the remainder of the season. So as far as Im concerned he's in his off season and is free to do as he pleases and if that means being out on the town doing whatever he chooses, just as his teammates will when their season is over.

Then so be it.

Whether he has an agreement to return to the club for pre-season training with a clean slate. Or they've privately agreed to part ways at the end of the clubs season remains to be seen.

Right now. Im perfectly at ease whichever way it goes.

But sure, he was first with the story and he's set of another round of hang em high hot takes from the chattering class.

I'm happy for them to stay silent on it until the season is over. He's an unnecessary distraction at this stage, best to just keep him in the background as much as possible regardless of what he's getting up to.

What's their angle into the story tho?

They need to take into account the heavy defamation laws that exist in this country. Laws that they're obliged to be very weary of to at the risk of a serious legal action.

Just as they need to take into account the fact that his absence is related to his struggles with his mental health. A subject that is rightfully taboo.

As for the club. They've handled it as well as they possibly could and have been bending over backwards to accommodate his needs until they were forced to hand over his well-being to the AFL. Making any criticism of the club and its handling of the saga rather difficult.

All things things that are in the public domain. Legitimate stories and fair game for further discussion.

Outside of that.

They've been all over breathlessly reporting of his every movement and social media posting.

Postings that people read way too much into.

They’ve linked him with two “shootings” despite scant evidence that he had any direct connection to either. Indeed they've had to go out of their way to acknowledge that he has been cleared by police of having any involvement in either event.

He's one of the only people in the state who has had his car stolen and his privacy invaded by having his name splashed all over the news. Something very few public figures and no private citizens have to put up with despite the fact that 45 vehicles are stolen and used in countless crimes in this state every day of the week.

Making the news reports tenuous at best. Pointless at worst.

To their credit, they've for the most part avoided reporting on some of the more defamatory rumours that have been hinted at publicly and circulated privately in this thread.

So there's that.

I don't see how it leading the seven news report last night is "taking it easy". There is no report that he or anyone he was with pulled the trigger or was involved in any way with the event other than being at the same venue on the night.
