I actually went through the indigenous settlement where Jamarra grew up yesterday Mofra

Been in the area for 36 years and it was the first time I’ve been there :$

Posting a video running with Brad Hill and now a pic in the office of Conners Sports Management with a Geelong jumper on the wall. Another guy that likes to play cryptic games for the attention.

Given the money gets funneled through their manager, I’ve always been curious to know the convo between him and his manager regarding income and what he’s spending it on.

The saints may be his very last lifeline. Strong cultural links available with Hilly, NAS, Henry and Windy may be the very last option he has to save his prodigious talent. I’d just hand them him for nothing to be honest and say good luck. We can pay half of next years contract and we gain a list spot back.

SOS may be the only ego big enough to try it.

If you believe the rumours, Marra was close to going to the Saints last year until the did a bit of digging into his choice of mates and then backed out of the deal.

I don't think any other club takes him on.

I know it was only 2 games, but the second was like a final, and Croft showed at least as much at 20 years old as Jamarra did. Plus his pressure and chase is top shelf for a tall.

Croft looks like a possible 20-30 goal proposition next year. Not as good as Jamarra in 2024, but not miles off. Anything from a regular rate of improvement and up from Croft between now and next season will mean we likely aren’t losing a ton on field if Jamarra goes.

Having both Croft and Jamarra means we can move one of our talls back. Despite no history there, I’d still back them over Gardiner or whoever else we can get. On Croft, I’m not convinced yet that him in the forward line is best for the team. Naughton was very quiet in the Croft games and I think a lot of that is to do with crowding. We’ve tried 3-4 talls with Naughton for years now and it’s never worked. The other thing about Croft is his durability. He plays aggressive which is great but I don’t think his body matches his intent so I think he will be injured a lot until he both curtails his aggression and strengthens his body.

I actually couldn't care less about his goal tally.

Croft has the tank to play really high - well out of the way of Naughton and Darcy, and he chases and tackles. And provides a making option for that kick out of defence.
He's a classic case of a player being not as good as a rival for the same spot, but more valuable to the team. He simply suits us better.

In time when he builds his body he may be able to play as a second ruck too. Outstanding for our structure.

The other positive for Crofty was in his 2 games he took 10 marks 4 of which were contested and most were up around the wing and high half forward which is what we have often lacked minus Darcy who takes them then has no one to kick too

I'd love to see Croft as a wing or Weddle-type backman. Has all the attributes for it

If Jarrad Grant and Matty Croft had a baby , it would be Jordan Croft.

He is a 12-13 year player, at any line on the field.

Right amount of mongrel, and by Christ he actually has defensive traits !!

JUH almost needed to be cattle prodded to perform a defensive act.

In my view, an absolute upgrade as his head appears to be screwed on right ( and perhaps Cosmically Jordan came at the right time ).

I'd back Gardner over JUH any day, he may have his disadvantages but he turns up for training and is a great team man rather than being a training witches hat which JUH is on game day and has no respect for the team and club

if Jamarra goes.
If Jamarra goes. The ‘If’ is if he stays. I reckon Bevo is off him completely. I reckon the whole club probably too? They’re probably resigned to not getting any trade value either. The only thing they could salvage would be to personally see him do well with his life first, then football. But not at a close rival and certainly not at Geelong.

Based on playing ability Ugle Hagen is ridiculously under rated on here, comparing him to Croft who couldn't get near it in a vfl game yesterday. Accuracy was the only thing stopping Ugle Hagen kicking 50 plus in 23 and 24, who knows what he could have been capable of this year.

Jamarra is probably naturally more talented than Croft, hence going number 1 pick, but it would be wrong to suggest he wasnt also having games where he couldn't get near it in his 2nd season in 2022 - at the equivalent age of Croft today.
