It’s obviously far from ideal, but given we used pick 14 on him and not an actual pick 1 it’t not that bad. Pretty hit and miss in that range in that draft.
Still missing out on pick 1 talent though. As we all know, we can’t attract that level of player via trade. We were given a huge advantage in having access to him, to counter some of the imbalances of being a smaller club, but won’t get to maximise it.

He doesn't hang around with awful people. He's never been like Jamarra. He was late for training twice in his whole career.
His Dad was deported because of Dutton's ridiculous new laws which no other countries have .
I don't think Jamarra wants to be a professional footballer , much like Tom Boyd, and I don't think anyone will pick him up.

Tom Boyd was a professional footballer, he unfortunately was constantly under negative media scrutiny (bullying) for his large contract and it affected his mental health to the point of needing to retire.

Dusty did have some connections with the Mongrel Mob, of which his father was a member.

We’ll see, there’s a decent chance we did get the most out of him.

He has shafted us so much.
All he had to do was come back in the middle of the season like agreed and put in the work. The boys would have got around him if he did. Now we will get shafted in the trade.

His lucky we are well covered in the area he plays.

Filthy seeing that grin this morning. Is he so oblivious to the consequences of his actions for the dogs?
The short answer is yes, he would be oblivious.

None of his interviews or public statements suggests he actually accepts any responsibility and believes he is the one hard done by here.

I know we want him off our books, but this really is a disaster. Number 1 pick and a few years later lose him for nothing. Not saying the club has done anything wrong, but losing more A grade talent for no return is such a bad outcome and likely keeps us mid table.
I am saying the club has acted irresponsibly by offering him such a big contract when they surely seen signs of his problems early on!

I think that's why he was only offered a 2 year contract (albeit at decent money) rather than anything longer term. They hedged with the length, thankfully.

On less coin than Naughton.
In a way we're lucky. Croft as a FS pick, not to mention Darcy the year after Marra, helps to soften the blow

Just watched the video with the interview. He was high as a kite.
No he wasnt. He was just answering the dumb question he got asked. I don't think there was anything wrong with what he said or did on that interview. We are actively pushing him out he needs to go talk to other clubs

Who even asked that stupid question? Was it a journo or some random?

I'd argue the media circus and speculation is plenty of impact, so getting rid of that will be a massive plus.
What impact did it have on the team?

Bevo got asked questions sporadically early then once after we stood him down

The players have literally said they have been isolated from the issues surrounding him

I presume they're inquiring about if they can cut him with no issues if he goes off the rails again.
I wonder how much information the AFL is allowed to indulge about Jamarra regarding their very close involvement over the past 6-12 months. There's a lot of things that they might not be able to disclose to Gold Coast if they involve medical issues or psychologists.

The Health Records Act (Vic) and Privacy Act (Cth) would prevent any mental health records or past testing results being provided. I assume it's a get out clause or legal questions about any future testing.
