McGovern forward, Barrass back.

No Mackenzie.
That or Mackenzie back.

Emac forward reeks of pushing shit up hill. I know he's spent a bit of time forward in the WAFL but it'd take a herculean effort for him to kick multiple goals in an AFL game.

Who sees Emac ever kicking over 2 goals?

Petrie forward sounds better than Petrie ruck and we tried that.

Realistically Darling & Lecras are the only two who look capable of kicking 5 for us in Kennedys absence but I'd love for McGovern to kick a few.

Darling played his best when JK was out in 2012...just saying. We have more options this this time too.

Gov up front with Emac and Barrass as options to replace him.

Darling and Mcinnes combo.

Petrie/vardy and a returning Lycett are capable up front.

Bring in Lamb and see what he can do.

JK is awesome but we seriously rely in him way to much so now is a good time to look to the future. Might also get the mids to work harder at impacting the scoreboard.
Definitely the team had become too Kennedy conscious, so now it's time to try something different.

gov is way much of an asset in defence. Would like to see petrie played at FF, Vardy shoulder majority of the ruck and Mcinnis at CHF.

Lel @ McInnes.

Bloke rarely provides much for EP up forward. Plays one decent AFL game and people think he's dependable suddenly. There's a reason he was straight out for Petters.

He wasn't straight out. Petrie played WAFL last week.

And as soon as McInnes was swung forward for EP in rounds 7 and 8, he had 3.0 and 1.3, respectively.

I actually think he's first cab of the rank if we want to replace Kennedy without shifting McGovern, but clearly that doesn't happen.

Hopefully nothing serious but our season is going no where. Hopefully gets back for a crack at the Coleman but don't risk him. Didn't look good at all.
You're kidding right? The Coleman will be out of reach even if he only misses 3-4 weeks.

We haven't been flat tracking this year so I doubt he'll get many 6+ goal hauls.

Interesting that a journo kept pressing Simmo on the "pop" sound JK said he heard at the time of the injury implying that hearing such a sound is an indication that the tear is more tendon than muscle belly...ie. it may be achilles tendon.

I'd just about put money on it being an Achilles. The way he went down like he got shot in the back of leg, heard a 'pop'.
Our club doesn't really have a great track record when it comes to transperancy on these sort of things either...he's fine, he's fine - nekminnit...season over! :(

I was honestly wondering which BigFooty poster that journo is as he pressed for clarification on the implications of the pop sound.

Simmo as usual didn't yield but I thought "good onya, mate".

This so much. Almost every forward entry is to Kennedy. It was easy for GWS to plan against. They basically had 2-3 guys contesting against him every time. It is amazing he still managed 3 goals and one off to Petrie.

Changing structures and forward entry won't be the end of the world. The list of guys who could be a target is pretty long so could make opposition plan more difficult, as long as our planning and structure adapts.

Yeh I cant remember seeing a calf done where you cant even put weight on it like that.

My IT background in medical sciences and few sessions of hammy rubs at physiotherapist puts the injury at 3 months minumum and season done

Personally I would rather leave Gov back and see if Barrass can play forward with JD. Weren't they trying him forward in the WAFL a bit when he was out of the side earlier in the year? Structurally, it doesn't mess with us as much asd moving Gov and he would offer more than FMac I would think. Could also switch Barrass and Gov around at times if it isn't effective.
