This years gather round sold like hot cakes??? This year indigenous was good tho.

That said it’s been the first season ever we’ve released a ton of jumpers and if this becomes a regular thing every year, the shitty jumpers won’t really sell as people will just wait for ones they’ll like
didn't think this year's gather round stuff would of been popular till i seen every third person at the game wearing it like ty said

How the pitch went down:

Some pointdexer Graphic designer who's put 100 hrs into the design:
Introducing the “Heart of the West” jumper – a bold, modern reimagining of the West Coast Eagles identity, grounded in the rich colours and proud geography of Western Australia. This design celebrates not just a team, but the vast, diverse land it represents.

At the heart of the design is a stylized line-art map of Western Australia, seamlessly integrated into the jumper’s torso. Rendered in fine gold lines, the map spans diagonally across the chest, symbolizing the team’s connection to every corner of the state — from the Pilbara to Perth, and the South West to the Nullarbor.

Don Pike (with one foot in the BHP loader on his way to MRP):
Yeah sure mate, slap the eagle head on it, game changer. Gotta go boys

Mmm yeah nah. Not great.

We are West Coast - blue and gold.

Not WA.

We have enough of our own history, being the pride of WA for nearly 40 years (yeah I said it, **** the Purples), to celebrate the club on WA Day.

So next time, a WA inspired (shape of the state etc) Eagles jumper in blue and gold.
I don't mind the black & gold, it's synonymous with WA. Richmond aren't the only team allowed to use them.
Who knows, perhaps if they didn't exist, we might have used black & gold as our official colours.
Hell, even our 2025 training guernsey is black & gold.
I've always liked Perth Glory's occasional black & gold jerseys. It's a nice change. Especially since the Dockers have adopted purple as their main colour.
Only issue is that the design sucks. I think a more solid shape of WA on the guernsey would have looked better than the lines. Perhaps with the Eagles logo being smaller.

Yet another jumper we’ve chucked the logo onto for no good reason. I don’t mind the idea, and I love the rays forming WA, but it’s all for nothing with the eagle slapped on top.

100% this

Feels weird to say it, because it's an integral part of the wings, but it would have looked so much better without the Eagles head because it's stuck on like an afterthought.

And yes, the long sleeves looks like a PJs top.

Same as the Western Force. I probably would have eased the change of colour in with a predominately gold guernsey and less eagle head.

Not a fan of the WA Day jumper, but it did wind up Freo so that's a win.

When asked about their crosstown rivals’ move, Longmuir said he thought the round was more about celebrating the club’s history.

I would think heritage round is there for wearing your club’s history rather than WA’s history, but I haven’t given it much thought,” he said.

Your club, yes.

Your club, yes.

Is it even officially heritage round? I thought they created it because it’s on WA day weekend.

I thought we were getting a derby on WA Day eve?
I think if we wore state colours in a Derby the purple board might actually explode

We should totally do it

I might be in the minority here but I love that the club are pushing a few extra jumper designs out per year. No issue with it whatsoever.

I do agree with most here however, that this WA day design is a big dissappointment. Just quietly, I think our logo sucks ass and we should revert back to the OG. Simple, effective, stylish.

Boy, they really just slapped that logo on there, huh?

They could have improved it vastly by making the WA-lines design motif bigger, and then putting the Eagles logo in there, making it look like the lines were exploding from the logo, or something.

It would still be boring, but it would be better.

Most confusing part of it for mine is that gold is one of our colours and black isn't, and WA kits are traditionally gold based, so to make this kit mainly black with a bit of gold makes no sense to me.

Even just inverting it with black shorts would've looked far better.

Either I didn't realise it was Heritage Round, or Justin Longmuir is an imbecile.

Possibly both.
