This movie was just on tv as a midday movie sort of, not sure if it was only in Adelaide.
Pretty old movie but i loved it when i was a kid and haven't seen it for a while. Just watched it again and its sensational, especially the fight at the end!

Bought the Karate Kid "trilogy" on DVD last year, but have only watched the original so far. I should really watch the sequel soon, cause I remember it being quite good! :thumbsu:

"Pain, does not exist, in this dojo...does it?

NO SENSEI!!!!!

Mercy, does not exist, in this dojo... does it?

NO SENSEI!!!!!

Forgiveness, does not exist, in this dojo....does it?

NO SENSEI!!!!!!!"

Repeat x 2.

Get this guy on board at the Dockers i say....

I love the guy with the pony tail from Karate Kid 3. A young Steven Segal if I've ever seen one. And you gotta loved the washed up dojo master from 1 coming back in number 3 wanting revenge on Laruso.

Some may remember the same guy (dojo master) as the bad dude in 'Walking Tall.' He was pretty choice in that too.

Different people im afraid.

The 'bad guy' (Sensei Kreese) from Karate Kid's real name is Martin Kove, he also appeared in Rambo: First Blood Part II.

The bad guy in Walking Tall (Jay Hamilton) was played by Neal McDonough, who also appeared in Minority Report and TVs Boomtown.

Hadn't seen this in years but what a great movie.

Funny too.

Stands up well after all these years.

Miyagi is one of cinema's greatest characters.

When Ralph Macchio did 'the crane' at the end, I was jumping off the couch!

I love the attack of conscience some of the Cobra kids get in the end.

"I want him out of commission."
"But.. "
"I dont want him to lose. I want him OUT. OF. COMMISSION. Is that understood?"
".......yes, Sensei."

And then the kid gets disqualified and he's yelling he's sorry..

"Sweep the leg, Mr. Lawrence..."
"*Eyes widen*"
"Is that a problem?"
"..........no, Sensei..."

And then you see one of them practically throwing the trophy at Laruso while he's celebrating at the end!

Dan - Mr Miyagi.

Dan - What kind of belt do you have?

MM - Canvas.

MM - You like?

MM - J.C. Penney. $ . .

Dan - I meant...

MM - In Okinawa a belt means no need rope hold up pants.

:D Pat Morita was the stand out actor in that film & Elisabeth Shue did look pretty hot back then.

He's been the 'bad guy' in other movies as well.
