Why is this award named after a 5 time leading goal kicker at Geelong, Kent was a good player, no spud
Because the earth was directly in line with the astrophysical jet of the black hole M87 which caused a disruption in the space time continuum governing our laws of physics.

Kingsley was a good player. I imagine it's named as such because he always seemed to disproportionately played well against us:
  • Against Melbourne: 10 games, 27 goals (2.7 per game)
  • Otherwise: 115 games, 212 goals (1.8 per game)

It’s essentially a humorous award that has been going for a long time. It is not intended as disrespect. It’s a reflection of the Melbourne supporter experience of enduring players that haven’t really reached an official berth as one of the ‘greats’ managing still to carve up the Melbourne team.

The Kent Kingsley name isn’t to undermine his achievements at all, it’s for Melbourne supporters to laugh at how regularly our team have made a general, honest footballer look like a Gary Ablett Snr (or similar) stud

I'm coming out of BigFooty hibernation for this one.

We need to note that if you remove his games against Melbourne in his first season (playing for Norf, no less) and his last two seasons when he was washed up, he kicked 27 goals in 7 games against the Dees.

I'm sorry we offended you Kent, but you are well and truly the overlord of this society. Embrace it.

So we could tempt controversy by calling it the Kent Kingsley Klub

Another weird thing about Dees 2021 is the lack of Kingsleys we are giving out. Could have sworn 4-5 other spuds would have torched us by this point in the season.

Paddy Dow is a Toumpas level first round bust. If he comes in and kills us we could be back to 2019-2020 Dees very quickly.

Dow to get 8+ clearances and a goal, Casbolt to kick a bag

Toumpas had old man hips - Dow is just s**t, and a pea heart to boot

The Toumpas hip thing was overrated. Sure he lost some pace, but the lack of composure and ball handling for an undersized mid like Toumpas was remarkable.

He never seemed to get any stronger or fitter through all his time in the system. Think he was just a huge bust who couldn't handle any adversity.

This is his highlight video. He's just not very good.

the 'Boomer Harvey society of grandpa's who play well against Melbourne' could be given a shake up too, Marc Murphy to wind the clock back? Eddie Betts just kicked a bag but would definitely be an addition if he does it again.
