Google is a wonderful thing :D

Carey's Profile (old)

Carey's 11 goals, 15 marks and 31 possessions against Melbourne received the accolades of it being one of the greatest performances of all time.
Now those are some freaky stats.

He only ever went to CHB when he was comprehensively beaten at FF or if the ball was just not going forward.

He wasn't going to kick any goals during those games. :p

He was a very awesome player in his prime and deserved All-Australian captaincy.

Just remember he is a little older, a little slower and battle weary.

He is a fantastic player to have around, he just doesn't kick massive bags frequently, and there is no problem with that.

No not arguing your point at all, in fact I agree with it :)

You just got me thinking when you said you can't remember him kicking more than 7. I had this feeling that it was 11 against Melbourne and I thought I might do a bit of research :D

If he can kick 2-3 goals a game and contribute in other areas like he did against Port a couple of weeks ago and I would be more than happy.

I just wish we play Watts next to big Duck. It would do him the world of good.

or carrying an injury or feeling a bit crook or if the kangas were getting floged or if dennis just felt like it.
the fact remains that he did play a lot of footy at CHB.
he also would play as a marking type rover ocasionally.
I wish Ayres would use him back when we are copping it!

Thats fair enough, I always wondered why Pagan left him at CHF or FF for so long when the ball was just not moving forwards.

He would have made a very good CHB, a position we were very weak in beofre and after Pike.

Not sure he has the pace anymore, but he certainly has the footy smarts.

No offence but you don't have to be a great forward to be the Crows key forward this season. He has done well in the last 2 weeks (from 8) which makes it 1 good game in 4 (25%). I would rather have Kane Johnson any day.

Wasn't a bad effort getting six from the duck.

He isn't a big goal kicker, never was. He just takes the best defender and normally can still contribute.

The problem for Adelaide is there are not enough other options so it makes it easier for other teams to just drop a second player back and make it a 2 on 1 constest.

Wasnt there a question on the footyshow the other night asking which Current A.F.L Footballer has kicked the most goals overall?
The Answer was wayne Carey
