Yeah I thought he was good and definitely deserves keeping his spot. He got 4 goal assists (best in the team) on top of his goal. Reminded me a bit of the old Tabs at times but thought he had a presence on the field - he'll need opportunities to improve and I think he would. That spin early in the first was awesome - kind of won me over right there and then.Glad Tanner got a game. He played ok and maybe a few more games he could become traid bait for an upgrade

We're screaming for KPP depth. Not going anywhere.
Quality kpp not kpp for the sake of it
We wouldn't get anything for Smith, if he goes to another club he will have been delisted. We don't have either ready to go.with Johnson likely in his last year, Pav in his, and AP coming off a serious injury, Silvagni likely a delist (his body has had it and is one concussion away from retirement, if he isn't there already), Smith is more valuable to us than he is as trade fodder.
He's been on the list for the same time as Tabs and has only played 3 games, but we've invested too much just to get a 4th rounder for him with whom we'll have to start all over again.
Well since you bump this thread , I would like to know how many KPP in freo list are capable of playing swingmen, ruck and mid .bump
Logue can play both ends. Strnadica can play ruck and key forward so that's a start.Well since you bump this thread , I would like to know how many KPP in freo list are capable of playing swingmen, ruck and mid .
I'll have a crackWell since you bump this thread , I would like to know how many KPP in freo list are capable of playing swingmen, ruck and mid .
How so?I'll have a crack
Swingers: Logue, Ueber, Collins, Cox, A.Pearce (hopefully just stays in def), Hamling - all unproven but surely one or two come good
Ruck: Sandi, Clarke, Darcy, Ape, A.Pearce (?), Strnadica
Mid: Logue, Duman (don't really consider him KPP)
Mousy you don't like it.Sounds like a swingers party
Both were used as swingmen in the VFL to various success. We've seen RTB throw Collins forward for Freo for short stints too.How so?
Western Bulldogs supporters on big footy seem to think Hamling went ok in the VFL up forward but was a massive liability at AFL level, he was also delisted by Geelong after not making it as a forward. I'm not sure he'll ever be anything but a defender (which is not a problem at all)Both were used as swingmen in the VFL to various success. Yeah, I reckon Cox looks the most likely to be effective up forward. But even then, he's said he prefers back. I don't particularly rate KPP swingman that much anyway. Prefer to have KPF and KPD, with utility type that can provide game day flexibilityWestern Bulldogs supporters on big footy seem to think Hamling went ok in the VFL up forward but was a massive liability at AFL level, he was also delisted by Geelong after not making it as a forward. Swing men will be good if your team is full of KPF or full of KPD. It will be horrific to see cox ,Collins ,uebergang , Dawson all play kpd for peel .if you look at lyod interview he said that tylin and logue can play more than one position .Yeah, I reckon Cox looks the most likely to be effective up forward. With all due respect, I don't think we recruit with Peel in mindSwing men will be good if your team is full of KPF or full of KPD. Peel is a development ground for players to excel in their prefer position before trying other position . training or match simulation just don't have the competitive edge compare to actual opponents. With all due respect, I don't think we recruit with Peel in mind
We're gagging for KPD to form the backbone of our back 6 for years to come. A.Pearce is a lock, the others can battle it out. Once Dawson and MJ retire, the list will be more balanced for Peel. Plus our big men are always injured anyway![]()
About time too. The kicks to Tabs last season were well below standard. He needs to let the kickers know that he wants them in front of him where his quick leads are, not floating on his head where defenders can easily spoil. He's very reserved around the ground that's for sure, just let the crap kicks be known..
Collins and Tabs halved their marking contests - in one of the more spritely contested duos. Collins was dirty on himself when Tabs took one, and Tabs was dirty when Collo got one. Tabs even had a go at one of the kickers "f**king kick it to us, not over our f**king heads". Was good to hear him fire up - seems very quiet and reserved on tv.
To be fair to to Tabs, especially someone coming off the rookie list, it does take some time before you find your feet in the club and have the confidence to stand up to your team mates.
Definitely a confidence thing and the more players feel like they belong the more they'll start barking instructions and letting everyone know what they think. He's got the frame and slowly building confidence. He's just got to feel like he belongs now which is a big hurdle. Once that happens you'll see his confidence improve and will be more vocal.
Stephen Hill was similar, took a couple of years to feel like he belonged before he became more of a leader. Obviously he's seems a bit of an introvert on the field so that has a bearing.
I think it's a rare thing a kid coming into the club feeling like they belong and have the confidence to tell senior players what they think. Some would construe that as arrogance, some as confidence. Whatever it is, it would be great if we had a bit more of it. That's where the club psychologists earn their keep.
