Anyone else a fan?

Really loved the show, was totally different from everything else out there. Hank Kingsley was a great character, whilst it was awesome seeing the great Rip Torn on TV regularly.

LMFAO. I feel exactly the same way about Shandling, myself. I can't fault the show for any reason other than his annoying presence. I love the characters, and the situations they find themselves in. The Ep where Hank decides to become Jewish was my personal fave.

Fantastic show.

I love the orange juice commercial episode. Its the one where they have taken closed circuit TV film of Hank having sex with some girl and are astounded at how well endowed he is. Anyhoo Hank really wants this well paying orange juice ad and when the woman who is casting for it sees Hank's manhood she gives it too him.

The last scene in the episode is Larry and Hank watching the ad. Larry says to Hank "Well done, you got the ad. Who did you have to **** to get it?"

Subtle humour never works in Australia.

Unless you've got canned heat or slapstick, you have a failure in Australia.

I watched this show from the first episode to the last when it first appeared on The Comedy Channel. It is brilliant! Great writing and great characters. Surprising really as Gary Shandling's stand up is insipid crap.

Rip Torn as Artie must rate as one of THE all time great sit com characters of all time.

"Gawdy Hell. Fry the f******s"

"Jesus Larry, she knows about little Mickey."

What I like most about Larry Sanders is that just like "Frontline" it shows the television industry for what it is: Filled with paranoid ego maniacal primma donnas with paper thin skin and talent. Hank is a classic example of the talentless sidekick in constant fear of being found out. His attempts to hitch his wagon to Larry off stage are excruciating to watch sometimes but always funny.

Not the first time the two shows have been compared. Widely thought that Working Dog borrowed the idea and ran with it, in the form of Frontline.

True , very true.

Also watched it for the character "paula" played by Jeanine Garofalo
