Just read through the first 12 pages of this thread.

We are that much closer to GTA. Big discussion early on about which will be GOTY.

I have TLOU above Bioshock right now. With what we have seen of GTA I think it's still going to be number 1 this year.

Right now I think I have Bioshock a tiny bit ahead. Purely because I was slightly more invested in what happened to Elizabeth. But I could easily change my mind before the year is out.

Pfft gtfo, the story alone shits on Bioshock, the pace of the game hit the mark, you were emotionally involved on the game from the first scene and the gameplay was excellent.
Bioshock was more of the same with a good story.
Bioshock would walk over broken glass and hot coals to smell the shit of TLoU, just so it knew what a great game smelt like.
After all that Bioshockk isn't a bad game, TLoU is just an excellent game.

I'm still to get Bioshock infinite.

Loved the first one, found the 2nd a chore. Got about half way in and never finished it.

TLOU is still my number one right now.
Didnt even bother with the second Bioshock, the first became a chore for me towards the end and only finished it because of the story.
Infinite is better than the first imo, worth a play through.

Jesus that was a crock of shit you just posted.

The Last of Us tells a fantastic story. But I cared about what happened to Elizabeth more than Ellie.

They are both excellent games and would both win GOTY in any other year this generation other than this one. Don't put one game down and try and make it seem like I'm stupid because I'm posting more sense than you are.

Going into spoiler territory for both games so don't blame me if you click it people.

The reason why I cared more about Elizabeth than Ellie is because it was pretty apparent that all throughout the game that Ellie was never going to die.

Elizabeth's fate was not set in stone (and depending on your interpretation 123 odd versions of her died at the end). There were periods in that game when we were separated and I genuinely felt like she might not make it. That I'd have to watch her die in front of my very eyes and it was superb. Hence why I cared more.

Ellie had the fate of the world in her arms and it was Joel who was going to die if anyone and that worried me, but not to the extent that I did playing through Infinite.

The settings of both games were absolutely top notch, seriously amazing stuff. The journey through an imagined state of Americana in 1914 was quite amazing. As was the bleak present played out in TLOU.

I said that Bioshock was just ahead for me at this point. I also said that may change as I probably replay both. Plus TLOU multiplayer probably should notch it ahead. Go ahead and say that you like it more, but pretending that it is streets ahead of Bioshock is pure fallacy and folly. The are both utterly resplendent gaming experiences (both top 5 for me personally) and are probably going to be everyone's 2 & 3 game this year due to GTAV.

Really?!

I was 100% sure Ellie would die. Definitely more sure of it than Joel.

Firstly I wasnt trying to make you sound stupid, I was just giving my opinion.
Also I think it is way ahead of Bioshock, but thats my opinion.
Also by the sounds of things I have a completely different opinion of what tlou was about compared to you, I will post some more later when I boot up the comp.
Alao how was it a crock of shit?

If you read through my posts whilst playing it I'm 100% sure that Joel dies. Was expecting him to get bitten and she needed to go on without him. Especially after they introduced her as a playable character.

Go read your post again you were just trashing Bioshock and my opinion of it. Hence why it was a crock of shit.

I loved what TLOU was about, I just don't think that Bioshock is that far out of the ball game it has to crawl over the hot coals of whatever the shit you posted. You jumped from balanced opinion to hyperbole.

It's not a be all and end all but TLOU Metacritc rating is a solitary point ahead of Infinite which helps highlight that the gap isn't as big as you suggest (95 to 94).
Oh lord you really are trying hard if you have to go to metacritic to justify your opinion lol.
And when did other people's opinions become mine????

Bioshock nowhere near TLOU imo, I have been way, way more invested in the characters and their fight for survival, Bioshock doesn't even come close in that regard. TLOU forces more emotional attachment to Ellie than Elizabeth. I haven't quite played anything like TLOU ever before, and that for mine puts it roads ahead of Bioshock.

Except Mighty P expressed his point eloquently along with providing his reasons for thinking that way. There is no problem with expressing a difference of opinion as long as you can provide genuine reasons for feeling that way.

You on the other hand posted the gaming equivalent of a Bay 13 post.

The Last of Us Confirmed to be Censored in PAL Territories

Source: http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/08/05/the-last-of-us-confirmed-to-be-censored-in-pal-territories
Naughty Dog has confirmed that the version of The Last of Us released in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other PAL territories has been censored in accordance with local regulatory boards.
After weeks of reports, a curious user on the Naughty Dog forums finally received confirmation from the developer that the game had been "slightly changed" in order to accommodate legal requirements in each individual territory. The full response from Naughty Dog representative 'EvangM' is as follows:

"Sorry for the delay in responding, but we've been super busy. And we do read all of your and other fans' messages, but there's a lot of them! Anyway here we go:
1. The gore and violence ratings are subject to local regulatory boards in various countries, so the game must be slightly changed in order to accommodate those choices.
2. To be honest, I'm not sure what version Australia is getting. If you import the North/South American version, it will not be censored, but EU/UK will be.
Regards,
EvangM"

Although no further official detail was given, The Last of Us players have found the censored content to be isolated to the PAL version's multiplayer mode, where blood spray has been significantly toned down and enemies cannot be dismembered, unlike in the American version.
