There was a rumour Geelong offered Lonners another year to stop him being poached.
Do we have any proof he signed an extension?

Did you just...
lol. It's just throwing darts in the dark mate.

Scott is pushing these guys out of the middle to help develop the kids.
But one by one the older guys are going to start getting exposed for pace when they aren't playing the extractor role.

True

But Bartel hardly played in the middle this year :/

Where do you think he'll mostly play in 2015?

During the year I'd like to see:

Kelly & perhaps Enright rested at times for Bews, hoping Bews can play at least 10 games.
Lonergan & Rivers & perhaps Mackie rested at times for Kolodjashnij, hoping Kolo can play at least 5-10 games.
Bartel & Stevie J (I know it won't happen) rested at times for Hartman & Jansen, hoping they play at least 10 games each in 2015.

But I am expecting Lang to take over from Bundy's spot but if not still hoping he plays at least 10 games.
I am also expecting Thurlow to be starting Round 1 but if not still hoping he plays at least 15 games (deserved more in 2014).

HMac also carrying an injury by the end of the 2014 season which greatly affected his mobility (knee IIRC). Considering 2014 was the first near full season of footy he's played in several years, I thought he did a decent job overall. But the BF pundits all think he should be gone. My tip is he'll be offered another year at the end of 2015.

Here's me thinking he'll be lucky to get on the park at all in 2015.

TBH, I'm over HMac. Squibbed it when the pressure was on at the end of the season, and was just servcible when he was fit. If we're relying on him for the next two seasons, god help us.

Kelly is everyone's whipping boy at the moment. Was carrying an injury in the latter part of 2014 & finals, so output was way down I agree. I think he's still an important player overall for 2015. Not sure if he'll retire, as I see him possibly playing his last years at another club like Chappy. Depends how the body is holding up I suppose.

It should be noted that Shane Kersten was also carrying a knee injury. He has had knee surgery twice this year. I think that Kersten also needs to be cut a bit of slack.

I know one player who should definitely be doing this until he retires especially if he's considered becoming a coach, SJ.

NSFB

Im surprised its not something our club encouraged in previous years instead of losing ex players to footscray.

Salary cap on coaching department this year could make it a possibility if the seniors are willing to play for rookie wages.

Its their legacy. If the 3 cups was enough, then thats ok, but they could do so much more for the club in good faith for the next few years. Would love to see at least one become a head coach, and one a board member.

No he didn't you are correct.
They'll keep using him as a utility. I don't like it.

I'd like to see Kelly AND Bartel play more in the middle.
Let them release the ball and have a few guys play outside such as Guthrie (or he could play back) Murdoch, Motlop, Blease.

Why? Because it sounds all nice and cuddly?
No thanks. Find the best coaches.

And Mooney was only part time.
Ling will do part time work for us next year you'd think.

But is part time enough?

And there you go. Emotion ;)

My feeling is that the club would know how well those players coached the juniors at training etc.
How they instructed others on the ground.
How well they got their message across.

If they were really that good, they wouldn't get a chance to go anywhere.
And then there's also the experience they gain by going elsewhere. Coaching doesn't have a time frame on it.

We've got ex Geelong players coaching all over the place.
But I'd still take an ex Sydney player over a Geelong one if they are a better coach!

I agree, but we're not talking about Kersten in the context of 2015 being his last year at the club, as we are these other guys.

That's your opinion, and good luck to you.
