Duplo is garbage, I wouldn't even touch that stuff when I was in the 3-6 age range or whatever the recommended age range was.

It's lego for morons.
It's connecting ability was far less than the mighty Lego, that's for sure.

I always though Duplo was Lego for toddlers and half the reason it was huge was so they couldn't swallow it?

Seriously though I can remember being in pre-school and kindy as a 4 or 5 year old and the teacher would bring out the kiddy safe Duplo to play with on the table.

I'm like "Are you for real bitch? C'mon I'm playing with heavy duty Lego at home, I'm not dropping back to Duplo, I'm splitting to the cubby house with the slide and you can't stop me".

Also had The Ice Planet. It took my dad three hours to build and on my first trip around our loungeroom/living room, I dropped it halfway through. Whoops.
Come on, little Cruyff. Build your own Lego.

Yeah it's kiddy safe lego so little kids and Sooz types wouldn't eat it.

Sooz is probably still only allowed to use Duplo, which is ironic because it's the Lego equivalent of a Kogan.

I think I might have skipped the Duplo stage and went straight into Lego building when I was a kid.

I remember my grandparents had two massive barrels of Lego that I would pour all over the floor and make awesome shit with my brother. Cleaning up afterwards was always a pain in the arse though.

There is an even smaller version of Lego that my missus discovered a little while ago. It's called Nanoblocks. It's more detailed than normal Lego because it's pretty much half the size. Makes me feel nostalgic yet grown up at the same time. :D

Loved the pirate Lego (Googling the below image brought back memories), always wanted a ship, but never got one. Had this instead:

Had a lot more of this dragon type lego, it wasn't as fun though:

I used to froth violently over the Pirate Island. Had some epic battles lasting weeks playing pirates. I used to design and build my own epic ships. I kind of regarded myself as an expert at them, but seeing some of the stuff on youtube these days puts me to shame. F*ck knows why I didn't become an engineer - instead Im doing a boring desk job.

My parents spent thousands of dollars on Lego for me when I was a kid.

Had Fort Avalon and I absolutely loved that.

Also had The Ice Planet. It took my dad three hours to build and on my first trip around our loungeroom/living room, I dropped it halfway through. Whoops.

Ice Planet was awesome.

Im remember my 'animated' cousin got Paradisa one Christmas...you can kind of guess how things turned out for him

Check this out - amazing

Just did a quick "amazing lego creation" search and bugger me, there is some incredible shit at these lego conventions on display. Mind blowing stuff.

School holidays when we were kids was built around my brother and I having two week long epic 'lego wars' where we would divide the lego men up between the two of us, and then build forts and other structures in and around the lounge room. We'd then take turns at using a pirate cannon each in trying to knock of each of the men of the other team. As we had about 50 or so lego men, therefore having 25 each, it normally take us a week to clean the other side out, mostly because the firing of cannons was only able to happen when Mum was at work for a couple of hours each morning.
