Yeah bad, still not as bad as some of the rules elsewhere. Was reading about "unincorporated associations" in the uk. These things can donate up to about 32,000 pounds and while it has to be declared, the source of money doesn't have to be. An "unincorporated association" is a group of people with a common interest and a set of written rules. What that interest is and what the rules really doesnt matter and they dont have to registered. If you were trying to gain influence and wouldn't otherwise be allowed to donate (eg foreign sources) then no problem, set up as many "unincorporated associations" as you want and donate as much as you want whilst staying in the shadows. Known loophole for years, but strangely no party seems in a hurry to close it.Re the donors, I am soooooooo pissed off about the stitch-up deal that Labor and the Coalition did shortly before parliament rose. We need to wean our politicians off the donor teat, and they've done the opposite for themselves, to try to hamstring the independents. Absolute craven bastards.
