This is one of the 2 major reasons they push nuclear. That and so their mates can still own the mines that dig up uranium and whatever else goes into it

You can argue it's because of self interest and not altruistic reasons, but Andrew Forrest has come out with anti-coalition remarks and opposed nuclear as a transition to renewables.

Over here, he is far more trusted than Gina Rinehart and is perceived as more 'in touch' with the common person (whether he actually is, is another matter to debate), so his opinion does help sway votes.

We were having coffee at a little van by the beach with shared tables & sat at one where he was on the phone so we just ignored him as you would. Unbeknownst to us he finished his call & said something. When we realised he was looking at us we said pardon what was that? And he looked at us sternly & said - we say good morning to each other in Cottesloe.
We were suitably chastened.

I actually did some IT work directly for him & his inner circle setting up laptops & tablets when he was first setting up Fortescue & my Mum & sometimes me attended the same little church in Cottesloe but of course he didn’t remember me.

He’s freaking buying up every historical building in Cott, of course the family home is on Forrest St. I swear he sees himself as the feudal lord of the suburb.

Being a by-election I think the donkey vote for this one could be a bit higher. It is an area that would usually be considered pretty politically disengaged which will make it higher as well.
