All in agreeance that it needs to remain tightly kept on?

Eagle Flag Hope

"BROWNLOW medallist Gerard Healy is adamant St Kilda, Fremantle and West Coast will be premiership forces for the next decade."

Whoosha - Coach of the Year

"West Coast's midfield as good as Brisbane's and Adelaide's."

"West Coast - best team in the AFL"

OK, this is fun, the whole 'winning lots of games' thing. And the attention is nice too, but geez... it's not going to be pretty should (god forbid) it all cme crashing down ala '99. One week at a time?

You said it. The reason why we are going well this season is because we take it one week at a time.

Anyone who makes predictions for the next decade is an idiot (even more so if the prediction involves serial under-performers St Kilda). Sorry, Gerard, but you just can't tell that far ahead. The only teams who could justifiably take the label team of the Nineties (for all the nineties) were the Eagles and North. Both coached by outstanding coaches for the whole decade, with a consistent core of the best players of their generation.

Hopefully we can be good for the next few years with a flag. But we'll do it by just taking it one week at a time.

Let them talk it up....let us keep our minds on the game. One week at a time.

I must admit though the attention is nice, actually reading about the Eagles in the media is something that hasnt happened in a long time.

I think the media are playing it up to either get the Eagles over-confident or make them a target.

I still have to say in MHO that Adelaide, Port and Brisbane are still above us in talent, application and skills. We are not too far behind, but lets get things on an even level. We are winning games, we have a multitude of talent, but we still lack experience in some regards, an example being how we allowed Colliwobbles back into the match when we were 41 points up.

I think a flag is around the corner, but not right yet. If we do make it and win, wonderful, prove me wrong again, but I think a flag is still a year or 2 away.

The biggest laugh I had this weekend was reading in the Slimes on how Wallace says the Purple Pansies will win a flag before West Coast. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

He based this assumption on how Fremantle belted the dogs last week. Christ, even the local under 13s would beat that rabble. No disrespect to the dogs, they have some good players, but simply do not have the talent on the park at the moment.

I actually think he wants to coach freo and used that article to indicate he could take them all the way.

That's exactly what I thought. Call me a cynic, but there's something pretty sinister and sneaky about many of Mr Wallace's pronouncements while he's in the media. I really don't like (recent) ex-coaches providing "expert" comments on their old sides because they've got an agenda (wasn't my fault, told you so, if only they'd done that when I was there etc).

Shaw on Collingwood, Judge on us, Wallace on the Dogs - all crap. I'm trying to think of an honourable exception - perhaps Blighty because he's so off the wall.

I think Connolly is safe for now. He seems to be doing a good job and I think it's only fair that he is given some time to prove his worth, not just a year or two. A coach can only guide, it's up to the players to bring home the game and I think if Freo go sack happy like the Saints or Richmond, they will never achieve much.

I think Wallace should look towards Hawthorn (if Matthews decides to stay) as I think Schwab is the only coach to go at the end of the season. All other jobs are safe..........for now.

I'd also add cornflakes to that list. If he doesnt perform, knowing the history of that club, he will be a goner!

Not at this point in time Carls.

I think Cornflakes is safe as coach for now, especially with Butterboy in the Presi's job.

The Saints have a lot of talent and it makes me wonder what type of team they could be if someone like Matthews, Malthouse or Sheedy coaching them.

Hmmm, but you have to agree with a club like St Kilda, the tide can change very quickly!!

I let the lid off for a few hours after the game yesterday, but I think I've got it back under control...

I think just about everyone here did (including myself). IMO, thats ok because it was a fantastic match and a great result for us! I have put the lid back on tightly. We have to now look to next week and find a way to beat the Tigers! We can do this if we play hard enough!

Every game day I wake up feeling worried! No game is a walkover and it is if we get too ****y and confident that is when it comes back to bite you.
